Cute little place. Needs some deep cleaning. Items on the ceiling were full of dust and grime along with the bar area. Great architecture features. I had a Garage Top Dog, YUM. I’m from the Chicago suburbs and was jonesing for a dog and (chips), would have loved fries. ☺️

Whitney was an amazing bartender — she actually knows what a proper shaken martini with shaker ice on the side is (which already earns major points in my book). The drinks were spot on.
The prices are incredibly budget-friendly — almost VFW pricing — which makes it even better for a casual night out.
Trivia night on Tuesdays at 7pm is a must-do. They offer prizes for first and second place, and the themes change every week, so it stays fun and fresh.
The outdoor seating was a whole vibe, and having two bars on the property keeps things moving even when it gets busy.
If you’re in Riverside and want laid-back, affordable, and genuinely good bartending — this is your spot.

I realize I’m an outlier because a lot of people seem to love this place. Maybe this just isn’t my cup of tea but I was pretty disappointed when we showed up. The whole place smells strongly of cigarette smoke which I do get because it’s a very open, seating outside but open to the inside kind of place.
I just chose to get the cheese nachos and my husband got the garage chicken sandwich. He was content. I unfortunately had stuff floating in my water and my nachos must have been sitting and waiting because they were mushy and room temperature. The only thing I really enjoyed was the music- my millennial heart was happy with that. Maybe we will give it a second chance some day ♀️

The perfect place to have a few drinks with friends. It has a great atmosphere and the service is really good. They have several types of beer and any cocktail you want, even the bartender helps you choose the ideal one according to your tastes. Without a doubt, a great place that you have to go to if you visit Jacksonville.

After attending Riverside Wine Fest, my friends and I decided to skip the long food truck lines and head to Garage—somewhere we’ve been coming to for years, often with big groups including our Stonewall Sports crew. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing due to the attitude of the bartender/server (female, Caucasian, black hair, goth style, multi-colored jacket).
When we walked in to order, she abruptly told us that if we came from the event, we needed to take our drinks outside the property. We fully understood and complied immediately—we barely had anything left anyway and simply had to carry them with us. We placed our order and waited outside as instructed.
My husband accidentally forgot to take the number, and when she brought it out, she slammed it on the table and said, “Maybe if you take your number we can figure out where to deliver your pizza,” then walked away. Completely unnecessary attitude.
We’ve supported this place for years because the food is consistently delicious, but the way we were treated on this visit was unacceptable. Until this staff member’s behavior is addressed, I can’t recommend Garage to anyone. Customer service matters just as much as good food.

Well, I only go for the veggie burger. Sometimes when my granddaughter is around, she does the cheeseburger sliders. Being meatless for some years now, their veggie burger is my preferred go-to. Ruffles chips on the side with my garage sauce. I’ve come to prefer the chips, fries would be a little bit too heavy for me.

Those who are okay waiting 45 minutes for cold pizza. Which is yet another reason I won’t be back. Bartender literally ask” oh I forgot about it, it’s back there if you still want it”.
