This landmark restaurant on the corner of SR 312 and A1A for two decades was taken over by new owners in March 2020. With a lot of hustle and true passion for great food, Freddy and Jenn Underhill survived COVID by serving classic Italian cuisine with the freshest ingredients. To keep things interesting, they also serve up daily specials with USDA Prime steaks, fresh pasta and seafood
Old-fashioned, informal place for pizza, pasta & other familiar Italian preparations.

Friday evening brought a change in the usual pizza night. I decided to take some family members to Amici to sample the Italian food there. I had passed this restaurant numerous times since moving to St Augustine, but never ate there.
The place was not crowded when we arrived. We did have reservations, which are recommended. Our waitress brought drinks quickly. The obligatory bread was tasty as well
I decided to try my old standby- Chicken Parmesan. The dish was served promptly. It was good, with the proper amount of sauce and cheese. My sister had the Eggplant Parmesan. The portion was so large that she took half of it home.
I thought the prices here were very reasonable. We didn’t have dessert, but I was tempted to try the cannolis (which our waitress raved about). Amici’s was a pleasant surprise, and I would return.

Our initial visit last year left a lasting impression, with exceptional ambiance, service, and cuisine. However, our recent dining experience failed to meet expectations. The exceptional service provided by Daisy and the delectable bread with roasted garlic cloves were the only redeeming aspects. The Fried Calamari appetizer was flavorless, and my husband’s Fettuccine Vongole lacked flavor. The White bean soup had an unexpected kick. The salad’s Creamy Italian dressing was underwhelming. I ordered the traditional meat Lasagna, which had a crunchy overcooked bottom layer of pasta emitting water, suggesting that the lasagna may have been previously frozen. Although Daisy addressed the issue, the revised dish was unacceptably thin and presented in a manner that suggested an attempt to deceive. Given my recent family loss and emotional state, I was in need of a satisfying meal and rest. The chef’s decision to present a subpar dish was disappointing and inconsiderate. Lastly, with everything we experienced and an $83 bill, I am truly disheartened by this experience.

Unfortunately, the food was inedible. The risotto was dry and flavorless, the chicken marsala soggy, and the fettuccine vongole inedible. Even the penne vodka, which was the only enjoyable dish, made one of our family members sick.
Won’t be going back.

Extremely good food. Great flavors. Long wait. Make a reservation. Long time to get food.
But worth the wait.

Went to Amici Italian restaurant in St. Augustine tonight. I’ve never been there before, but it’s been on my try list for awhile. I was cautious because I’ve seen several negative reviews lately. Boy were they wrong! The food was absolutely delicious! I had chicken Alfredo with the grilled chicken and my table mate had one of the specials Shrimp Provençal. Both dishes were perfect! They came out timely, hot, and tasty. The fresh bread was also great. The atmosphere was very quaint, intimate, and clean. It was so refreshing to find a decent place that is not a chain. Our waitress was attentive and very helpful. (Great job Amanda!). I’m not sure what people expect or are complaining about, but our first experience was definitely a five star!

Great ambiance. Amazing service. Delicious entrees and appetizers. If you are in the area, stop and treat yourself. It has the fancy family italian experience at reasonable prices.
I’ve included some pictures for reference.

We had my mom’s 70th birthday party this past weekend and Jenn & her mom along with the staff was absolutely amazing right from the beginning. The price was right, the food was good, and they were extremely accommodating. I highly recommend using them for your events!

We chose this restaurant for Valentine’s Day expecting a special evening. Unfortunately, it was anything but.
Despite being seated quickly, we waited nearly an hour for bread and a drinks with little communication from the staff. The dining room felt overcrowded and chaotic, and the service was rushed and inattentive. It was clear the restaurant overbooked for the holiday.
The menu did not justify the premium price. Portions were small, dishes arrived lukewarm, and the overall quality did not match what we’ve experienced here before (or what the pricing suggested). For what was meant to be a memorable evening, it felt transactional and poorly executed.
We understand Valentine’s Day is busy, but planning and execution matter — especially when charging holiday pricing. Sadly, this experience missed the mark.
We won’t be returning.

Had my first visit here and the food was excellent. I got the shrimp special and my brother got chicken alfredo. Both were absolutely delicious. Far exceeded our expectations. The restaurant was clean and a cute atmosphere and the service was wonderful! Great job Amanda we will be back.

Food was good, not great. Server was nice- maybe rushed us just a bit. Place did seem a bit aged. The menu had bread and oil that came with the table – it was never offered or served. We were put in the corner (3 of us) next to another table with about 6 people. Would have preferred a bit more open space around us. Current capacity was about 40-50% so there was plenty of room. Food was served in a timely fashion. Our server Ashley was very nice and cordial. Overall good- though not great.
