Stopped in for lunch on an all day drive. The folks are welcoming and provided great service. My wife had a skillet and I had the turkey and bacon club. Everything was delicious. Nice place to blend in with the local crowd and enjoy some fresh cooked dishes.

Typically don’t go this way home to Branson. The Lord led us on a special journey and we just happened to get hungry. Ended up at Mount Vernon Family Restaurant. After all the holiday food we just wanted a burger and fries. This place did not disappoint and the young lady Rae such a sweet Soul made us feel very comfortable like we were eating at home. If they ever have the vegetable beef soup make sure to get you some. Thanks Rae for making our experience great. May God bless you and his light shine down upon you.

I got the biscuits and gravy with sausage and eggs, it was so good!!! The biscuits were perfectly fluffy and it was an excellent ratio of biscuit to gravy. The only odd thing was the eggs had the slight taste of coconut, not sure if they use that oil to cook them or what.

The server was a 5 star! She made sure our table was cleaned, drinks were filled, and food was fresh. The food was a little bland, and it had no seasoning. I feel like that could be worked on in the kitchen. Other than that, it was a overall good experience!

Everything we ordered was wonderful! The burgers are real beef and the chicken strips are massive! Everything was fresh, the staff worked together and we never ran dry on our drinks! We aren’t from the area and we were treated like we were one of the community! Thank you for a great meal and feeling like one of you!

Waitress struggled with the concept of substitution, like couldn’t comprehend it at all. My wife wanted to substitution her Cole slaw for fries. The Waitress brought out the coleslaw and when my wife told her she didnt want it she continued to repeat that it came with the meal. When the meal came out there was a half order of rings and a half order of fries. She said she’d comp the coleslaw since the portions were so small. To boot she came to the table to take our order as soon as I got up to go to the bathroom and then just stood there awkwardly the whole time I was gone. My wife told her we were not quiet ready yet and that I had gone to the bathroom, but she still stood there till I got back….Definitely good to have a sense of humor at times like these….lol
