At our Orlando, FL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I ordered through Uber Eats and my food arrived 30 minutes late, with the delay blamed on the restaurant. The truth? The food wasn’t cooked fresh at all — it was reheated in a microwave and practically inedible by the time it arrived.

Everything was hard as a rock. You couldn’t even squeeze the food with your fingers. The fish broke apart cold, dry, and rubbery like it had been sitting around and nuked. The fries portion was tiny, and even the coleslaw was warm — which tells you everything you need to know.

If the food had been fresh, I could’ve reheated it myself and only had myself to blame for ruining it. But this? This was unacceptable.

And to make matters worse, there’s no way to get my money back, and after all the Uber Eats fees I’m beyond angry.

Do NOT order through Uber Eats from this place. Go in person if you want any chance to address issues on the spot.

I really don’t understand the bad reviews. They have great fish and excellent app promotions. For my family they also have the best hush puppies! It was very busy on a Friday at 2 PM, I did not enter the drive thru. I went inside ordered on the app before arrival. When I arrived the order wasn’t ready (not their fault) I arrived early. The woman that greeted me found the order and it was prepared fresh while I waited. My food was delicious. They may be a little understaffed but that is what it is in the post Covid world. I think their staff is great. For as many people who were trying to get food, they did an exemplary job.

The stitch of mildew and dirt wet mops coming from this location is very strong. Clean this restaurant deeply would do so much good for the atmosphere of the store.

Came here the other night and won’t be back, the drive thru girl is always so rude and for no reason…. She cut me off ordering and when I asked questions she’ll answer so fast and then you have to ask her again to repeat herself. Sadly she needs to get another job. Otherwise you’re losing lots of buisness with everyone complaining.

I’ve been here 3x’s in the past 3 weeks… let me tell you… they are ON TOP OF THEIR GAME… everytime, wait staff is incredibly polite and efficient… everytime, they ask if I want to add-on shrimp, everytime, the togo order is accurate and HOT… I’m looking for trouble baby, can’t find any yet! The service was HORRIBLE! I literally waited in the drive thru for 20 minutes then got to the window, the gentleman working today 9/11 at 2:30 pm did not even acknowledge me, instead he kept folding his arms talking to the guy inside the restaurant. He never even took my money. Never said I’ll be with you in a second. It took so long, the person behind me drove off. I then decided to go in, and he still was rude. So needless to say, I did not take my food I just went somewhere else. And not to mention this is like one of the only captains d’s that I know of left so why would you not do your best. And if you don’t want to work there get another job! And have some decency. We, have to do better!

Love their food, but tonight was special. Arrived in the parking lot just after 9p, doors were locced. .. door says 10pm diner close, lady in parking lot says you have to go through drive thru. Ok I pull around sit at speaker several minutes.. not a peep… pull around not a soul in sight… 918 I pull off. Yesterday the plate was bare minimum and I still returned. Won’t be bk.
