Le Vin de L’assassin Bistrot nasce nel 2009, nome ispirato da una poesia di Charles Baudelaire. L’idea era quella di offrire la tecnica della cucina francese con i migliori prodotti tipici siciliani. Si trova nel cuore di Ortigia, centro storico di Siracusa in una delle più importanti via dell’isola. Il Bistrot possiede una sala interna con cucina a vista, un cortile che ogni anno viene decorato dai migliori Floral Designer ed un’altro spazio esterno a poche decine di metri dal mare.

My friend and I ate lunch here and loved it so much we returned for dinner that night! The food was absolutely delicious and so fresh. I had the risotto and the salmon and after a month in Sicily they were two of my favourite meals. The staff were all very warm, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Arnaud was our server and he made us feel so welcome and special. Definitely don’t miss out on eating here when you’re visiting Ortigia!

The food was absolutely delicious and the service was warm and attentive. The foie gras was enjoyable, though not particularly memorable. But the lamb… it was truly outstanding – tender, flavorful, and unforgettable. A dish that left a lasting impression! We also had a glass of Catarratto wine – fresh, elegant, and the perfect pairing for the meal.

Really loved their Lamb Shank too, and lamb is very rare in the restaurants around as they are mostly seafood .

Simply one of the best experiences – cannot recommend this place enough. After two weeks in Sicily eating amazing food, this place was one of the last we visited and it exceeded expectations. The decor and atmosphere is so good we feared we may be walking into a tourist trap, but the small menu put our minds at ease. Every single staff member was a pleasure to interact with. We ordered lasagna, risotto, and the lamb on our waiter’s recommendation. All absolutely delicious, but the lamb in particular was the best lamb we’ve ever had. Shared a hazelnut dessert to finish. I could rave forever about how much we loved this place – they make you feel as if you are dining with old friends.

The restaurant is nicely decorated with bright color which gives a Mediterranean vibe. However the food is more a French fusion.
We were generally impressed by the food. The grilled octopus was delicious and the duck breast was well prepared as well. I highly recommend the shrimp tempura as well!
The waiters spoke perfect French and Italian and were very helpful!
There was no cocktail menu but the restaurant is able to prepare basic cocktails.
I’d recommend this place if you look for a family friendly restaurant with cozy atmosphere.

Delicious food and great service (the waitress spoke 3 languages with us! Impressive!). If you’re a bit tired of the traditional Italian menu and you’re looking for something with a French twist – this is the place! It’s a bit pricey but worth it. we were really happy with everything that came out from the kitchen, and the wine as well. Even the coffee was nice (and we’re not fans of Italian espressos normally). If I’m ever back in Syracuse I will definitely come back!
