Great menu with something for everyone. Lots of local jams, biscuits, coffee at affordable prices.
Gets busy and as they are in a residential zoning they need to be closed by 9pm so be sure to plan accordingly. Bookings are recommended to avoid disappointment.
The Wicked and Salmon Benedict and Mexican Benedict are all amazing. Can’t wait to come back again.
First of all, the location is stunning. You are literally on the beach! And those Melkbos waters are aquamarine blue in colour! Pristine.
Secondly, the service is amongst the best I’ve received in Cape Town which speaks for itself. We arrived without a reservation so the only table available was inside but the manager came to us 5 minutes later and asked us if we wanted to sit outside and enjoy the view. Stuff like that leave a great impression on me – it’s what I remember long after the meal has been consumed and digested.
Thirdly the food was yummy! I had the crusted kingklip which was one of the specials. The portion was generous and the fish itself was so soft it melted apart in my mouth.
We had a time and we cannot wait to go back! If you’re in this part of the world, make a turn there. You will not be disappointed!
One small comment, the salt on the salted caramel cheesecake was quite heavy and unfortunately rendered it inedible. But the berry coulis cheesecake was great!
On the beach,beautiful views.
The staff very helpful and friendly, we did arrive early, but unbooked, they found a table for us and we had a delicious 3 course meal.
We enjoyed the menu choices, with some unusual dishes….my husband had the poke bowl and I had the moussaka.
The lemon tiramisu…. a winner!
Sip on a refreshing Aperol Spitz!
Our fave meals are the
Calamari starters, Melkbos kitchen Poke bowl, grilled hake, calamari, prawns. The burgers are also great.
Let’s not even mention the deserts and cakes.
