YUM! Stopped in for lunch and what a surprise! The food was hot, fresh and tender! One of the staff, Taylor, recommended I try the Chili with the Corn Pudding (corn pudding is my favorite) and boy was I surprised! He gave me a sample of the chili to try with my order! I can’t wait to come back and order a full side of the Chili and Corn Pudding so I can enjoy them together! My family really enjoyed their meals and the kids devoured the Mac and Cheese and their Chicken Tenders with fresh pressed French Fries! Ten out of ten meal and hats off to the friendly staff!

What a delightful experience. We are in Charlotte a few days awaiting the flight and ate lunch today at City Barbecue. They were extremely helpful and kind, the food was great, and a beautiful atmosphere. I had the two meat platter with brisket that was lean and chopped as well as the turkey. Both were great. The fries were OK but the corn pudding was remarkable. My wife had a salad that was OK, but she would’ve preferred the pork sliced and chopped rather than pulled. That’s just her preference on salads. She did have the okra and said it was amazing. She said the next time we eat there she will probably go with the ribs. We are thinking after dinner tonight. We are going back by there to get some banana pudding for dessert. Will definitely eat there again anytime we are visiting Charlotte.

I got the brisket sandwich with corn pudding. It was delicious. Didn’t eat the bread, could have had a bit more meat on the sandwich – but it was very good. There were 2 1/2 slices of meat on the sandwich.
I’m sure it’s by weight- and for myself it was enough food.
The atmosphere was good. Very quiet and you could talk with no problem.
This was my second time eating at City Barbeque. And it was as just as good. Definitely recommend.

Got the sampler platter and it was delicious and with an awesome price. Ribs were great and pulled chicken was very tender. Sides were really good too. Mac and cheese & corn bread. The sauces were great too with favorite being the swine wine!

Great service and atmosphere. Being from KC, I’m a pretty hard judge on BBQ, but I will say it’s the best BBQ I’ve had since moving to CLT three years ago.
Original sauce had a bit of a strange and slightly bitter flavor. Preferred the spicy sauce, but it also was just ok. Mac & cheese was surprisingly good and slaw was about what you would expect from a BBQ joint. Pulled chicken had very little flavor, which I find consistent with every BBQ place I go to here, but the turkey was nicely smoked.
Speaking of smoke, it’s the first BBQ spot I’ve been to in CLT that actually smelled of smoke. Extra points for that, and the service combined with this is what allowed me to give 4/5 versus 3/5.
I’ll be back.

City Barbeque is SO good. They have a great selection of mains and sides, and we love their 2 meats 2 sides platter. The brisket is amazing. The pulled pork is also phenomenal. As far as sides go, the cornbread pudding and hush puppies are the best! We have several jars of their bbq sauce in our fridge, and we always order them for game nights and family gatherings.

I love City Barbecue. The people there are always so friendly, and eager to help. My favorite is the pulled chicken Sandwich with a side of fries The portions are very large. I think the sandwich was piledtwo or 3 inches high., And the fries were crispy and delicious. During a recent visit,I had the pleasure of meeting Matt, who is a district manager I think. He was very friendly and welcoming and made me feel special as a customer. The person I worked with primarily that day was Sydney. She was very bubbly and a breath of fresh air. Such a nice And knowledgeable young lady, with a very welcoming smile. She did an amazing job for me. She should definitely be promoted.

The absolute best restaurant we have been to in a long time! The service was phenomenal, the staff were sooo nice! The hostess even let our 2 year old play with an etch-a-scetch while we were waiting. The food was hot and absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back!

I hate this b/c I’ve visited this establishment several times and I was a huge fan but I was thoroughly disappointed yesterday when I ordered a takeout family meal. I honestly think I was given old food, and did not call b/c I didn’t want to make the drive back. The food looked and smelled as if it had been sitting. The cornbread was hard as a rock, the Mac and cheese noodles were swollen and overcooked, the collards had a smell I couldn’t get past and the triple que meat was tough as nails! I’ll definitely have to find a new bbq spot and I’m sad about it.
