The atmosphere is always lively—bustling but never overwhelming—making it perfect for family gatherings or celebratory dinners. The service is efficient and attentive, ensuring teacups are always full and dishes arrive quickly and piping hot.
The Trilogy of Excellence (Your Recommendations are Spot On):
* Roast/Peking Duck: This is non-negotiable. The duck here is legendary. The skin shatters with the slightest pressure, giving way to incredibly tender, juicy meat. It’s prepared and carved perfectly, and the overall flavor is rich and complex. A benchmark duck for all of Southern California.
* Crispy Fried Pigeon: If you’ve never tried it, this is the place. It’s often overlooked, but Sea Harbor’s preparation is flawless. The skin is deeply seasoned and crisp, and the meat is surprisingly tender and savory—a truly authentic and delicious experience that showcases the skill of the kitchen.
* Signature Fried Fish Dish: The quality of their seafood shines brightly here and perfectly cooked. The exterior was lightly battered and wonderfully crisp, while the fish inside remained moist and flaky. You can taste the freshness, proving they source top-tier ingredients.
Sea Harbor is more than just a restaurant; it’s an experience in authentic Cantonese dining. If you are a serious fan of classic Chinese cuisine, and especially if you are looking to treat yourself to exceptional duck, unique delicacies like the pigeon, and fried fish, don’t walk, run there! You won’t regret it!
However, the reason for the queue is simple: this is some of the best and most authentic Chinese food I’ve had outside of mainland China. Everything we tried was fantastic, but the one dish you absolutely must order is the roasted pork. It’s delicious: crispy skin, tender meat, and perfectly seasoned.
Go, but maybe try to get there a little before the lunch rush, or just accept the wait!
We went for dim sum on a Saturday so that could be the problem. Please do it expect carts here. They use a menu. The menu offers really unique dishes which is quite fun!
The service was typical Asian, efficient. The restaurant is clean and well laid out. The bathroom is kept up.
The food came out hot and tasty. The lotus leaf smell was real and oh so amazing! The portion of meat to bread in the bao was perfect. All the flavors were good.
I would come again and try different dishes but I’d come early
I ordered a lot of dim sum for 2 of us , and everything was delicious. I was honestly surprised when I got the bill , it was much cheaper than I expected! If I had eaten the same amount at my favorite dim sum spot in Irvine, it would have cost more.
The atmosphere is lively and bustling, perfect for family gatherings, though it can get quite noisy when crowded. Service is efficient and attentive, with tea refilled constantly and dishes arriving quickly and piping hot.
Parking can be a challenge, so be prepared to hunt for a spot, especially on busy weekends.
