The restaurant was exceptionally clean and the staff very friendly. We were super excited to go to Big Boy’s it had been many years. So disappointing. Evidently due to lack of kitchen help, everything is served in/on paper and plastic. I am not sure why lack of help impacts food but they were out of a lot, too much to list all of it, Salad, shrimp, onion rings, Chicken Tortilla Soup, mozzarella sticks, kids menus (?), chicken wings, chicken strips, oyster crackers…. Granddaughter had a shake that was served in a small paper cup, Chicken Parmesan was served on a paper plate, Big Boy and Fries were not fresh and barely warm served on wax paper and Stuffed Pepper Soup had zero flavor and you could tell was not fresh.

Our server was Ann, she was the only server on so I understood how busy she was she got us everything we needed and let us know if she needed to come back to our table.
It was my first time going to Big Boy in a while. The last time I went was probably pre pandemic, I’m always a fan of diner food. Their menu was smaller than usual most likely due to covid so there were a few things that I missed.
I started off with the jalapeño poppers those were delicious and I also had the cabbage soup. The cabbage soup lacked flavor was not a big fan and will not order again.
Then I had the breakfast Quesadilla it was pretty good. No problems there and my friend had the fish sandwich which she enjoyed. We also shared a chocolate fudge sundae and I always love that. The cake wasn’t as fluffy as I was use to but the flavor was still lovely.

The food was average at best. You can’t expect amazing quality from a Big Boy. That being said, our server was not the greatest. There were two comments that she made that I didn’t like. The first comment she made was “I’m always right, that’s what I tell people” the second comment that was made was when she brought over my side of coleslaw as I’m browsing through my phone: “I always make my kids to turn off their phones when we go out to eat” I’m not sure if she was trying to be comical or entertaining. Regardless, you should be mindful of others and what you say if you’re a server. The only reason I’m leaving a two star rating is because I was hungry upon arriving and hadn’t been to a Big Boy in quite a while; so I figured to give it a try. I would’ve been better off got my to Taco Bell or one of the many other fast food restaurants around. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

My food was beyond delicious. I was given a great amount of food portions that freshly cooked for us. Most definitely going back soon. And our server was very friendly.

This is my first time in a Big Boy Restaurant. I have to admit the fried shrimp was great. The cocktail sauce seems to be home made and very good. Limited seating available but I didnt have to wait to get seated. I recommend this place. Next im trying the burgers.

The waitress was very nice. Can’t say that about her co-workers. Felt as though they didn’t like our skin color. Due to covid-19. Half the menu gone. They put your food on cut up disposable trays. Some of our salads were on lids of trays , some on the bottom. It didn’t look pleasing at all. I ordered chicken n gravy over biscuits. Honestly, the food looked undesirable. It looked as if it was a frozen pot pie cut open n poured out. Not a good kind either. The gravy wasn’t consistent. It looked like cream and lots of butter. Needless to say. We sent 95% of our food back. Still gave our waitress a tip. It was 11 of us. She handled everything by herself and was sweet about it. Wish I remembered her name. But, no. We won’t be going back.

Had the corned beef breakfast and it was very good – not greasy at all. They also have some of the better coffee around – not great, but definitely better than most. The value is very good as well – you get a lot of food for what you pay. There’s a reason this particular restaurant has been around for a very long time.
