Outstanding service! The food was delicious. The atmosphere was vibrant and perfectly fit what we were looking for on our trip, inbetween Miami and Key West.
I walked in in the middle of an NFL playoff game that was on every tv in the establishment. The audio was the perfect level. Our server was very friendly and prompt with everything, and this was the highlight for me.
For all the tables outside the bar, there were just two servers, and both of them acted as hostesses, AND bussed the tables together. For those who can’t count, that’s two waitresses doing four jobs at a typical restaurant. I was very impressed.
I had a double bacon smash burger, and it was excellent. All of the dressings were fresh and crisp. It was exactly what a burger should be. My friend got the Shepherds Pie (special), he’d never had it before, and he loved it. All in all the food was awesome, but the service was impressive and prompt.

This sports bar / restaurant is conveniently located in a mini mall right in the middle of Marathon. We receded immediately, and looking for a light lunch, we ordered the seafood bisque. It was amazing. We were humming and cooing the entire time we were eating it. Iced tea with lemon was good and fresh. The service was outstanding and friendly. Highly recommend.

Smash burger was on point. Be warned it is ala carte. You pay additional for lettuce, tomato, etc. But I enjoyed the meal. Would definitely return.

Really good experience. Staff was super-friendly and helpful with the menu. Food was good – meatball sub was not the same ‘ol/same ‘ol…unique. Tons of TVs if you want to watch a game and a good beer selection, particularly for IPAs.

Can’t give it 0 stars as far as I know. The waitress was nice but knew nothing about the beer on tap. We ordered an appetizer. Conch fritters. They came out on a plate and they looked like they were fried in very old grease. They were almost black in color and were mushy and dough on the inside. We then told our waitress that they were not good and we wouldn’t eat them. She offered to take them off of our bill. We agreed and ordered something not fried. The sandwich was ok. When the bill came out, I reviewed it. On the bill was a marking that said our app was discounted 100%.
However, the total of the bill was the same as it would have been including our appetizer. I questioned the waitress, she said she removed it. I showed her the math and she got offended, snatched the bill up and came back saying g she had removed the app altogether. Math checked out this time. We paid and left. I get a slip in food quality from time to time. That normally doesn’t bother me. However, don’t ever lie to me and then get indignant when I check the math.
I will never go back.

The restaurant was full and they had only one server working (other person didn’t show). Our server was amazing. She handled the entire restaurant like a champ. She had a great attitude. Our food came timely and was very good. The guys had burgers and said they were amazing

Really torn about this review because my food was good and my service was good. So, what’s the issue? Well, they have a very misleading menu. I got a double smash burger. Listed price on their menu is $13. When I got my bill though it was $26! I asked to see the menu again because how in the world did I mistake that by a margin of 2x. The waitress then said that literally everything on the burger is at an additional cost!!! Ya, so what, the $13 is for a bun and meat then? They doubled the cost of the burger because I wanted lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. I dont understand why companies do this. How could management possibly think this is a good approach with their customers? I won’t be back simply because I don’t think they’re honest and that’s disappointing because I live here full time.
Response to owner: Your response speaks louder than you realize. Even when politely asking to see your menu again, I, nor your waitress could show clearly the charges you just outlined. So to make it seem like it was SO obviously my mistake is outright dishonest. When your server asked “do you want everything on it,” that would be an appropriate time to say “that will cost an extra X amount.” Lastly, to belittle a customer for an 18% tip AFTER already feeling like I was being taken advantage of….ya, that pretty much sums up my experience in a nutshell. Very unprofessional in every sense of the word.

The Ale House is one of the best spots to have a meal, watch a game, meet friends for drinks or just to grab a meal to go. The staff is always on point, always cheerful and always fast. Their burgers are probably #1 or #2 on Marathon and their fries are excellent as well. If you HAVE to be on the water for a meal in the Keys, you’ll miss out of some of the best restaurants down here….I can say with 100%certainty that The Ale House SMOKES the ones on the water in nearly all categories.

Burke table for 8, please. Nice local restaurant and bar. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful.The food and drink prices were average and the place was very clean. The food, for the most part, was pretty good but lacked flavor. The Buffalo chicken pizza was overcooked and burnt on the bottom. The rib dinner eventhou they fell off the bone tasted like a jar of BBQ sauce was poured over them as an afterthought. The fish sandwiches a few of us got were really good, and we definitely enjoyed them. Everything else we ordered tasted good and was cooked perfectly.We will most likely try this place again next time we are down in Marathon.
