Call It A Dive, I Call It Great!
We have passed this place many, many times driving down McGregor and finally we stopped and are we glad we did. It’s such a cool place. A beachy, nautical, fish camp vibe with some seating inside, more seating outside under hard roof and screened in. We were there for a late lunch and actually surprised to see so many diners. The bartender did double duty as a server and was very knowledgeable about the beers on tap. He steered me to the Lazy Red Fish ($5.00) on tap, which was tasty, similar to Yeungling. My wife went with her usual fountain Diet Coke ($3.00). We started with a Calamari appetizer ($10.99). Excellent! A very light coating, flash deep fried, mostly rings with a few tentacles for fun. An excellent calamari flavor not overpowered with the breading. It is served with a side of homemade tomato sauce. Not a cocktail sauce, not a salsa, not marinara. Still warm from the stove pot, a bit chunky with large pieces of onion. A nice change from cocktail sauce. My wife had the Clam Chowder ($6.99). Served in a fun shell like bowl was this thick, creamy, clammy chowder with just the right amount of potatos. She loved it. I had the Garlic Mussels ($16.99). I’m sure this was at least a pound of mussels, steamed with an abundance of chopped garlic, wine and butter, topped with grated parmesan cheese. Joining the mussels was a great homemade garlic bread. Totally excellent! They also have a Happy Hour with good deals on food and drink. Regulars told us it gets busy for Happy Hours. I think we’re going to become regulars. Don’t pass this place.

My mother, aunt and I ate at the Lazy Flamingo in Fort Myers, FL and it was a very good experience. One had the baby back ribs, another had fried fish, and I had the fried oysters, all of it was very good. The oysters were probably the best I’ve ever had: fried perfectly and absolutely delicious.

We did have a small mix-up with my order. I had originally ordered fried shrimp because I was worried the oysters might be milky, but I ended up getting fried oysters by mistake. It turned out to be a wonderful surprise because the oysters were incredible. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she said she was 100% certain I ordered oysters and she had taken my order correctly. I just wanted to let her know how amazing the oysters were after all. I wasn’t looking for reimbursement or a fix. She could have handled the situation better.

The restaurant is very clean, and the decor is lovely. I was born and raised in Fort Myers and had never eaten here before, but I will definitely be back!

We stopped here for an early dinner. The staff seated us promptly and got our drink order going. The place has a nice Florida vibe atmosphere. I had some wings (hot) which were pretty good. I wasn’t a fan of the blue cheese dressing. My wife had the Haddock fish dinner which she said the fish was very good. I took a pic of her food, but it was too blurry to post. We dined here on 11/22/25.

Cool place. I got the grilled chicken sandwich and it was excellent. Interesting sauce came on it that I enjoyed. The fries were excellent, seasoned and crispy! Good Bloody Mary too! Sat in the back with open air!

If you’re a wing lover in the Fort Myers area, Lazy Flamingo is a must-visit. I’ve tried wings from just about every local spot, and this place absolutely stands out. Most restaurants give you 8 wings for $15.99, but Lazy Flamingo serves up 12, and they’re not just more—they’re better. Perfectly cooked with a crispy exterior, juicy inside, and full of flavor. You can tell they care about quality.

We also ordered a regular side of fries for just $3.99, and the portion was more than generous. Crispy, hot, and fresh—everything you want from a side of fries. My wife ordered the chicken tender sandwich, and she was just as impressed. It was well-seasoned, cooked perfectly, and came out hot and fresh.

Our server, Bobby, made the experience even better. From the moment we sat down, he was friendly, attentive, and really knew the menu. He took the time to go over all the daily specials, which you don’t always get. He also recommended the Dead Parrot sauce for the wings if we wanted something extra spicy—and he wasn’t wrong. It’s a step above your standard “hot” sauce in both heat and flavor, and it definitely delivered a satisfying kick without sacrificing taste.

Between the portions, fair prices, flavorful food, and top-notch service, this place checks all the boxes. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, Lazy Flamingo should be on your list. We’ll definitely be coming back for more.

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon about 4:30pm. We had the choice of sitting inside or out on the Patio. We sat inside as it was very hot outside. The inside is kind of cool with a ship or a ship dock vibe, its neat & clean and very organized. One thing I liked was the paper towels on each table. The bar area was large and the chairs look like they are off a ship dock. The outside Patio is very nice and large with ceiling fans all over the place. Our waitress Christina was spot on with our drinks and answering any questions we had since it was out first time there. I ordered the Mesquite Grill Grouper Platter which had Grilled Grouper on a bed of Lettice with a Tomato and Onion on the side. It also came with Fries and Coleslaw. My wife ordered the Clam Pot which had 2 dz. of steamed Clams on a bed of Onions and Celery with special seasoning inside a metal pot. For an Appetizer we ordered a bowl of Clam Chowder. Our friend ordered the Wings which came with 12 Wings, Celery and a dip or your choice. Our soup came out first, it was good with a large serving to boot. My Grouper and my wife’s Clam Pot were delivered next with the Wings. My Grouper looked amazing; it was done perfect. I loved it. The Fries weren’t too shabby, and the Coleslaw was also good. My wife’s Clams were done and very tasty and just enough to fill her up. Our friends Wings were good and with a dozen it was enough for some to come home in a doggy bag. Something I thought was special was the other waitress Mary Ellis stated if you need anything just ask Christina and I both work as a team. I must say the food and service was very good. We will be back for sure. I believe all of you need to put this cool place on your must visit list. I give this place 4 out of 5 stars.

A family favorite is our neighborhood seafood, wings, and burger place, #LazyFlamingo.

Cold beer, great food, several tv’s.

A few of our favorite menu items that are always delicious are the conch fritters, lazy flamingo bread with marinara sauce, and raw oysters (nothing raw for me, thank you, but my husband and son love them).
For dinner, we love the ceasar salad with grilled shrimp, teriyaki hot wings, the flamingo burger, the buffalo-blue, and the bacon cheese burger.

Food was tasty. Prices were fair. We had shrimp scampi, coconut shrimp, jumbo Buffalo shrimp. Son had a burger off the kids menu and it was big. Garlic bread was amazing. We definitely come back.

This is an incredible place. My husband, daughter and I are regulars and we hardly go anywhere else anymore because the staff is top notch, the food is consistent and it’s just a friendly familiar place to go after a long day. The staff treats us like family and Christina (one of the servers) is the kindest human and we adore her. We are lucky to have this place in our community and I highly recommend you check it out!

Awesome restaurant! The shrimp tacos were delicious and I loved the large portion of fried pickles. Kelsey was our server and she was kind and on her game. I’d definitely come here again.
