After years of this spot being on my to-do list we finally tried it out and it was pretty good, just pricier than I expected. The highlight of the night was definitely the charcuterie. It was one of the more well thought out and generous charcuteries I’ve personally had. Service was great and the ambience was quaint, although I didn’t quite understand why seating outside was prioritized over inside, regardless it was a cool spot with authentic vibes. Main entrees were decent, but nothing overwhelmingly memorable, wine list and cocktails were certainly on point. Having the parking lot available in downtown really helped for an easy night.

Had an amazing experience! My Boyfriend planned a dinner here with me and the table was well dressed with flowers, wine, & a hand written note when I arrived. Not only was the food amazing but the server REED was incredible, he was very knowledgeable of the menu and helped me make an amazing choice for my main course. We will be coming back. Highly recommended!

This place has officially become our favorite spot in Raleigh — it’s to die for. The food is incredible, and the drinks are great too. We always order the Caesar salad, the meat board, and the ribeye, and they never miss. Hands down the best food in Raleigh, and we’ve pretty much tried it all.

What a great dinner! They were slammed and were a bit backed up getting people seated but the wait was comfortable and not too long. I was really impressed with our attentive service and how quickly our food came out despite how busy it was. Our food was also hot and delicious with no issues. Our server Ayesha was so friendly and recommended the perfect Pinot noir. We had the pesto chicken pizza and the tagliatelle. Dessert was the cannoli and it was delicious

Had been wanting to try for quite awhile as good Italian in NC is a struggle and… Still don’t know since we didn’t get any pasta dishes . Food: Scallops were cooked perfectly, soft, tender, not chewy and the truffle sauce was rich and flavorful without overwhelming the scallops. The had the bread with burrata and tomatoes, delish. My daughter had the salmon, excellent – fabulous sear, juicy, well seasoned. I was super excited to see lamb shank and it was good, but not great. Want as tender and fall-off-the-bone as I had hoped, a bit too fatty as well. Overall good meal, tho I guess I’ll have to go back and actually try a pasta dish.

My wife and I were staying at the Longleaf Hotel and Lounge, in for the Pearl Jam Dark Matter Tour 2025. We asked Sherry if she could recommend a place to eat. Sherry told us Mulino Italian Kitchen, which is right across the street.
My wife looked to see if she could order a meal to pickup, which she did. I have to say once we went there plans changed. The staff were so accommodating, when we decided to eat the meal there at the bar. They changed
everything from takeout to a wonderful dinner setup. It wasn’t just take takeout and put it on a plate. No, it was a nice Italian meal presentation.
I was so impressed that I dropped off my wife as planned at the Levono Center in Raleigh.
I returned to Mulino. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend you plan a visit here, sit at the bar, Ben,Tim, or Brandan will be glad to see you. (Tell them Ed from CT recommend you stop by)
If you are like me, I like to make sandwiches and sit and eat food with my fingers, then I recommend Tagliere, a combination of Italian meats, cheeses, olives, some sweet peppers, and pickles. (See photo).
I also recommend a Cappuccino w Black Samuca.
Once again, Ben,Tim,and Brandan, great job, really enjoyed our conversations .
Thank you for making this visit so memorable.

My niece planned her 21st birthday dinner here and it was a beautiful experience. The vibes here are perfect. I love the outside at night by the water and the lights make it the perfect ambiance. The bread was yummy, the drinks were perfect! The food was good but not great, except for the steak and the pizza!

I honestly haven’t been this disappointed in a while. People recommended Mulino to us, so we decided to try it for our anniversary. We made a reservation but still had to wait about 15 minutes for a table when we arrived. We were seated outside, and it was incredibly loud — you had to yell just to have a conversation.

The food was alright (salad, crab cakes, lamb rack). I think it’s a bit of a stretch to call this place “Italian kitchen”. Unfortunately, for the price it felt pretty mediocre. Even the water tasted like it was about 75% chlorine. As disappointing as the food was for the cost, it was still the best part of the experience.
The service, however, was worse than what you’d expect at a dive bar. We ordered a second round of drinks when the first one arrived, and still waited another 10–15 minutes for them. By the time the second drink made it to our table, we had already been sitting there for about 35 minutes. Then my plate arrived, and the other meal showed up about 10 minutes later.

What really stood out to me was that we had come specifically for our anniversary (noted on the reservation as well), and it wasn’t acknowledged at all. No mention, no effort to make the evening feel special, and certainly no attempt to compensate for what was a noticeably poor experience other than a “sorry for the wait on the food” from the server. That makes me think this level of service is probably normal there.

I honestly don’t know what else to say other than try a different spot.
