Fun, cosy atmosphere. Food was not our favourite but partly a personal preference. The service, like some other reviews mentioned, is a bit slow. With that said, a true Austrian style experience that is really nice to have in the wintertime — would still recommend checking out if you enjoy this type of food.

Great spot for some schnitzel! We started with the escargot. It was pretty good; (not a fan of all the diced onions and celery though). For dinner we had the rahm (but ask for the pork to be breaded), and the wiener art (with added mushroom sauce). The Rahm (breaded) was my absolute favourite! That mushroom sauce is soooo good and the pork cooked perfectly! Our server Allicia was awesome! Highly recommend this place!

Came in with a friend on a Thursday night. We ordered the schnitzel special, jagerschnitzel and the apple strudel- we both enjoyed our meal very much! There was plenty of sauce for both of our schnitzels- both had a generous portion of entree and sides. Arrived hot and crispy- you can hear the chef pound out each order. Cheryl our server, was very attentive, and ran a very neat dining room.

Our family visited this restaurant during a trip from another province, hoping to have an unforgettable vacation in British Columbia. Unfortunately, our evening on Saturday, January 3rd at 9:00 PM was ruined by extremely poor service.

We were greeted by a very unfriendly server, who was not wearing a name tag, so we didn’t even know her name. We only requested a table by the entrance and fireplace, yet she served us with a displeased expression. She didn’t provide napkins, didn’t check if we were comfortable, and when we asked if they had any chips to go with beer, she replied, “We are a restaurant, not a grocery store.”

We waited about 25 minutes for our drinks, and the bill took 40 minutes to arrive. We even considered leaving without paying because the experience was so unpleasant, but of course, we didn’t. Still, this behaviour from the server was completely unacceptable.

Unfortunately, the actions of one person ruined the evening for our group of seven . I would not recommend this restaurant — employees like this should not be working in customer service.

I love this place. It’s my “go to” any time there is a special occasion, or I am just seeking a “better” dining experience. Chef Scott nails consistency every time. The schnitzels are amazing. So is the escargot. And the desserts. It’s all good! And the only thing that is as consistent as the food is the service. Alisa has served us on our last 2 visits. And despite the fact its been 6 months since we saw her last, she still remembered the particulars of our order. There are a number of schnitzel houses here. But I think this is the best food and value for your dining dollar.

We explained to our server Oliver, we had just completed a long journey and would need time for dinner. He was more than accommodating and took his time with us. The beer was excellent, real Austrian lager. The food was much better than expected. Having dined in Bavaria and Austria I must say this restaurant could compete with any of them. The schnitzel was lightly breaded and cooked perfectly. The spaetzle was authentic, not chewy or tough. Overall an excellent experience. Thanks Oliver for a great evening.

The dining environment was warm and cozy, and the prices were very reasonable. As for the food, the lamb, cooked to medium-rare, was just right and not as gamey as expected. The pork cutlet wrapped in dough was decent, and the rice was acceptable. Unfortunately, the fries were a bit too salty, and the steak, though cooked medium, was still rather tough. On a side note, the other customers that day were very friendly toward children, and the restaurant provided crayons and drawing paper for kids. Overall, our family had a great experience.

Overall experience 3.5/5. Though delicious, the food lacked quantity. I believe with the new management, the quantity has been cut back – less sauce on the schnitzel, 1 shrimp in the Oscar. Like come on. Need to hire more people. Our sever was serving more tables than he could handle. We asked for extra sauce which he forgot. He also admitted that he didn’t remember. One of our plates didn’t have purple cabbage. Asked for that. Server forgot. So not very enjoyable. Management needs to hire and train staff better to provide quality service and hospitality.

Really good! We had schnitzel, spatzle, and apple strudel, and everything was delicious. Loved the red cabbage side dish as well. The place was very busy, but our food came quickly. Our server was friendly. I’ll definitely come again.

Staff are nice. As others pointed out, we hadn’t hung to wait to get any attention even though there were like 4 staff at the front chatting to each other. $30 for schnitzel isnt bad – we had the champignon and jager schnitzel. Nice veggies and sides to choose from. Our waitress took a while to take our order after delivering drinks and for a Saturday at 6:15 it was half full. Upstairs has lots of memorabilia which the kids liked. The half litre stiegl was nice to share with the wife. Kids pasta w red sauce for $13 is a bit steep. Streudl was good.
