The atmosphere was wonderful, it was quiet and peaceful, the staff were very friendly. The food was absolutely delicious I got the crab ravioli which was amazing the pasta was cooked just right the crab wasn’t overwhelming and the sauce was perfect. My husband got the calzone and he said it was the best calzone he had ever eaten. The is absolutely the most authentic Italian restaurant in the Roanoke area. 5/5 would recommend

Our dine in experience at Sal’s was amazing. The food, staff, and ambience were everything you would expect at an Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, our takeout experience was not too great. Ordered pizza on 3 different occasions. Each pizza had overcooked crust. The crust overwhelmed the sauce and toppings. I have high expectations for Italian pizza/pie and Sal’s just missed the mark. Fix your oven temperature or cook time.

Family owned Italian spot! Pretty tasty. I got spaghetti and meatballs. The waiter was extremely accommodating to diet restrictions. Cute environment ! I think salad should have better quality leaves, but the marinara sauce was delicious.

Sal’s is hands down one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to. The service was top-notch(Destiny is amazing)—friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The food was absolutely incredible—fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. From start to finish, everything was excellent. We’ll definitely be back soon!

REAL, genuine, authentic Italian right in the strip mall by Bonsack Kroger. Don’t blink or you’ll miss it! Place was a little loud and pretty busy on a Saturday evening as to be expected but service was absolutely perfectly timed. Food came out right after the salad, right after we had indulged in the garlic knots! *YUM

I let my waitress pick the pasta and was not disappointed! I cannot stress how much you need to buy the garlic knots.

recently dined at this Italian restaurant and had a fantastic experience! The cozy interior creates a warm ambiance, but the outdoor seating, with its stunning views, made for an unforgettable setting. The service was outstanding—attentive and friendly. I ordered the red sangria and pasta alla vodka, both of which were absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Husband and I had the sit down lunch buffet yesterday. What a disappointment! The salad looked like it had been sitting around a long time and was unappetizing. The chicken marsala was room temperature and tasted worse than frozen from the grocery store. The pasta Alfredo tasted fairly good and was warm so we did get something decent to eat, at least. The hot wing (hubby just got one based on how everything was tasting) was dry. On a more positive note, the waitress did a good job and was pleasant. Cost of this meal, with 20% tip was almost $50. We’ll never go back. Total waste of money. Olive Garden would have been so much better and that’s where we’ll go next time.

First off the atmosphere as you enter is homey, clean and classic. There’s Italian vibe music playing at the perfect volume in the background. Just subtle enough to hear and not loud enough drowning out conversation. The food was amazing from the salad dressing to the Parmesan chicken.
The service was attentive and kind. I would highly recommend coming here with the family because portion sizes are huge.

Service was wonderful, the manager was so sweet, but the food was subpar.
We got the stuffed mushrooms which for the price you would have expected them to have crab or something in them, but they were soggy and had no flavor.
The kids spaghetti tasted like tomato sauce from the can and the meatball tasted frozen. The chicken parmesan sandwich lacked any sort of flavor or depth and the chicken was dry and also tasted frozen.
The veal contadina was so gamey, chewy and looked like it had previously been frozen, and also lacked any sort of depth of flavor so we sent it back.
A few coworkers recommended this place so we wanted to try it, but were extremely disappointed.
Again, the staff was wonderful.
