Reviews
Good selection of dishes to suit all. Reasonably priced and worth it with the food we had.
We were lucky to get a last-minute table booking, and the place came highly recommended.
However, the service let the experience down.
Despite arriving early, we waited a long time to be seated, and even longer to be served.
Our starter took over 30 minutes to arrive and was tiny. Mains (steaks) didn’t come out until nearly 10 PM, by which point we were too tired to enjoy them.
Staff mentioned they were short-staffed when I asked, but communication and attitude were lacking—especially from the young man handling our bill, who was unnecessarily rude.
A real shame, as the setting and cocktails had so much potential. Unfortunately, we left disappointed. 50:50 whether I’d give them another shot.
For mains, I had the seafood marinara pasta, our friend had ravioli, and we also shared a pizza. Everything was great, no complaints at all – we all really enjoyed the meal.
We didn’t order dessert because I was already full, but I did have an aperitif – a Frangelico, which I enjoyed. The service was consistently great throughout the evening.
Unfortunately it was very warm and stuffy upstairs while staff did make efforts to cool it down with the air conditioning I think it would benefit from a window being open from time to time to let some air in.
All in all I love the authenticity of the place, the decor is lovely and I would eat here again.
The food was outstanding. I’m very particular about my filet steak, and this was perfect, and the pasta dish was 10/10.
Lovely staff, fab ice cream, perfect view of the castle, it was perfect and I would recommend to anyone loving Italian food and steaks.
I had the carbonara which was pretty good. The portion size was a little small and the sauce just a bit thin but overall it was good. My partner had the rib eye steak which I tried and was cooked to perfection.
With a couple of starters, a side of chips and some beers it came to around £80 before service charge, which is just about reasonable for the meal we had.
