Visited on 7 Nov 2025 and had a very enjoyable experience. The ingredients were extremely fresh, and you can really taste the quality in every dish. They limit the number of guests each day, which helps maintain the freshness and overall dining quality, so it is highly recommended to arrive early.
There are daily recommended ingredients based on what is freshest that day, which adds a nice touch and makes each visit feel a bit special. The pricing is very reasonable for the quality offered, and the food was consistently satisfying and well prepared. A great spot for good sushi without being overly expensive. Definitely worth a visit if you appreciate fresh ingredients and a more thoughtful dining experience.

Hands down the best sushi I had in my life so far. The fish were super fresh and tasty, specially the fatty tuna.
The restaurant is small and serve a limited number of people per day, so make sure to come in early.
The staff is also super friendly and helpful. 10/10 recommend if you want to eat quality sushi at reasonable prices.

The best sushi I have ever tasted, the fish melted in my mouth, the portions was huge and the sea eel was my favorite, a must to try if you there. The chef and the staff are super friendly and nice, 10/10

Absolutely delicious food and amazing service. They were so friendly and accommodating. Price is affordable for a touristy area plus you get free water and cold/hot tea. Sushi was delicious and fatty. We highly recommend the tuna and unagi!
The restaurant is well air-conditioned but they also provide hand fans if it gets too stuffy (its a small place). We also noticed that they have a limitation of how many customers they can serve in a day. By the time we finished eating at 12:15 on a Thursday, they were down to 55 people they can serve.
They probably noticed that we were Muslims so they prepared their unagi without soy sauce. To be honest we didn’t even know that we couldn’t eat their soy sauce so I’m so glad they were attentive and understood halal requirements!

In the madness of the bamboo gardens and temples – this is a fantastic slightly off the track place.
The sushi was incredible – they welcomed up with a toddler in our midst and if one of your party doesn’t like sushi there are other shops outside you can eat from.

Must try this when you are in Kyoto! I recommend getting there early because the place is small and after 12 p.m there will be more people lining up. The fish so fresh and thick. You also get free hot/ cold green tea. The staff is also friendly. Absolutely going back on my next trip!

The Eikun sake was excellent and the plum wine was sweet and delicious.
