Pirates Pub is one of those places we come to every so often—and then we remember how good it is, which is exactly why we keep coming back. Cold beers, a great location, and a laid-back local vibe that never disappoints.

The food is consistently solid. The Pirate vs Burger was a standout—juicy, flavorful, and the fresh jalapeños gave it the perfect kick. We also had the clams in white wine sauce, and they were excellent: tender clams with a bright, savory sauce that was perfect for dipping. The fish dip is fresh and always a great start, too.

Service was great as well—Holly the bartender was kind, attentive, and made the experience even better. Reliable spot, great food, and a place we’ll keep coming back to.

Cool place with tons of atmosphere. Overlooking John’s Pass from the boardwalk, indoor/outdoor dining. The food is good, and service was great.

We went here for dinner on the last day of our vacation. We chose the Pirates burger and the fish and chips. The burger was nothing special….too much bun in my opinion and didn’t really have a lot of flavor, which was very disappointing, especially after reading other reviews. Now that Fish and Chips is a whole different story. Being from Illinois this is the kind of fish you find in bars on Fridays for their fish frys. This was delicious!! You get two pieces of cod and they are not small! Fries were good, coleslaw needs improvement. Our server was nice. Would definitely return if ever in this area again.

Pirate’s Pub-N-Grub is one of my favorite spots to stop by when I’m in the area. The patio seating right on the boardwalk is a huge plus—it’s the perfect place to relax, enjoy the beautiful weather, and people-watch while having a bite to eat. Whether you’re just grabbing a quick lunch or hanging out for a few drinks, the atmosphere is always laid-back and fun.

The burgers are definitely a standout here. They’re juicy, flavorful, and made just right every time. If you’re in the mood for something hearty, you can’t go wrong with one of their delicious burger options. They also offer a great selection of drinks to go with your meal.

What really makes Pirate’s Pub-N-Grub stand out, though, is the staff. They are always so friendly, attentive, and make you feel like you’re part of the family. It’s clear that they care about providing great service and making sure you have a good time.

If you’re looking for a fun, casual place to grab a bite and hang out, this is the spot. With great food, an awesome view from the patio, and a welcoming vibe, Pirate’s Pub-N-Grub is a must-visit!

Our kids and grandkids were visiting and they wanted to eat here, and experience the whole tourist thing that John’s Pass has to offer. We didn’t tell them this wasn’t a fine dining spot but we knew the food is really good. To their surprise, it was not the fancy shmancy place they were expecting but, they, as we, really enjoyed the whole evening. The initial experience given by the bartender outside was a little off puting, but we get it, she was probably having a shitty moment, but the rest of the evening was great, as was the service. Everyone enjoyed their meals and our grandaughter is now a fan of gator bites!

What a funky & fun eatery & bar right on the boardwalk & water on Madeira Beach’s famous John’s Pass. Incredible seafood so fresh & well cooked, it’s a taste sensation. Great side dishes. Incredible tropical drinks, including a full liquor bar & great beer selection. The Servers are beach cool & friendly. The Bartender on our last visit even made a frozen cocktail that wasn’t on the drink menu because we told him we hadn’t had one in years & loved them. The music is mostly classic rock with some reggae mixed in, but goes with the hippie cool vibe. Outside seating is limited but a perfect spot for people watching along the John’s Pass Boardwalk & at tines even seeing dolphins frolicking in the water. We go during off times & mostly during the non tourist season, as it’s a small place & wait times can be lengthy. But, compared to most other eateries at John’s Pass it’s well worth the wait.

Food was fantastic, these were the best clams I’ve had in years of coming here. I ordered a second round because they were so good. Ian our server was also great. The bar has great food and nice drinks with a wonderful view of the water where the dolphins often swim pass. They also offer Naturls which is one of the only things my type 1 diabetic sister drinks so that was also really nice. Will definitely be back.
