This 5-star is for the experience and the kind hospitable Ukrainian girl who works in the bar section and enlightened my night with her attentiveness, However the food and service were just 4 .
My orders were so classic,French onion, foie gras, coq au vin and creme brulée. The soup was so good, very rich and balanced stock.
**Foie Gras:The foie was not worth the price. The presentation could have been better and there was really sth missed within the foie, either seasoning or I suppose it was grade B.Really small and not worth 34$.( The strawberry sauce under the foie was so professional and wow).
Coq au vin: Large portion, very good presentation, super tender chicken, mash and green beans. But the sauce was a bit overreduced. It was rich but abit over reduced.(This was 36$, just compare it to foie).
Dessert:Not so many options but the brulée was to die for. Sensational and also really affordable.
Service was not very fine-dining and quite slow. However the whole experience was flawless, the restaurant is so cozy, the atmosphere is such that u will forget u r in Toronto and at the end, the kind Ukrainian girl(unfortunately I don’t know her name) took me some pictures, as she saw I was alone and truly completed this nice experience.
This place is completely French, despite Auberge or Canoe and has better food. Definitely worth visiting.
Finally a real French restaurant in Toronto.

Fantastic winterlicious lunch experience.
If you like to dine in a well appointed room, large mirror over the fireplace and just a cosy spot, come done here.
Service upon entering and serving staff very friendly, and helpful with the menu options.
Now the food.
Mushroom tart was a ok pastry centre they was surrounded by tasty and flavorful mushroom.
Personally, I like beef not with all the fat associated with some cuts. This flank steak is very flavourful and tender that came medium rare as requested and the sauce was not overwhelming (as some times it is just too creamy and salry.. but not here ..this is a great steak. And the curly and crispy fries… Very very good and glad there was a lot of fries.
Dessert was a wonderful, milk cheese, slight firm and not overly salty that was accompanied by a slight honey drizzle….so so good.

Went for Valentine’s Day. I had high expectations for the $130pp menu. Spent $400 in total for 2. Our reservation was at 7pm, we got there at 6.50pm but our table was only ready at 7.30pm! And somehow the couple behind us who had a reservation at 7.15pm got their table first ♀️ Very bad service. The food was definitely overpriced and under seasoned, I wish there were at least salt and pepper on the table. The pasta was tasty but it’s just pasta and sauce, only carbo and nothing else. The sea bream got bones inside! It’s so embarrassing to get the bones out of my mouth when my partner was accross the table looking at me. This was supposed to be a “romantic fine dining”, right? The dessert was too dry, dense and heavy. A mousse cake would be better. Thanks for ripping us off and ruining our Valentine’s Day. It was my birthday too and they did nothing.

Maram and the team were amazing. We stopped by for Saturday brunch and had a great experience.
I ordered the mushroom toast with poached eggs—so good. My partner and my friend had the crêpe madame and the Full Selby, and both were excellent. Everything tasted great, the portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable.
I originally ordered the beef tartare but found it a bit fishy, which felt unusual for beef tartare. I mentioned it to our server, who confirmed that sardines were included—something I hadn’t experienced before. The staff were very accommodating and handled it well.

Cute atmosphere but terrible food. Went for winterlisicous with my bf and his family, none of us enjoyed! There was no flavour. I can’t stress enough how everything tasted so bland, and they forgot to add pears to my country salad, which also was not good. My bf got the steak frites, in which we had to ask for salt and pepper as there was no taste. I got the squash mushroom pasta, which smelled great and then the taste was disappointing as it lacked flavour. Desserts were ok but nothing to write home about. The service also left a lot to be desired with incompetent waiters. We asked for hot waters for the table and our waitress brought one for my bfs grandma, then we waited a few mins and had to ask for the other ones, and she brought one for his sister, then we waited a few mins again and told her for the 4th we meant for the TABLE. They gave almost boiling water as well? Not to mention the atmosphere seems cute but everyone is squeezing past each other as it’s such closed quarters inside. Just a very disappointing meal overall, I’m not sure how the reviews are so good? Do the people who enjoy the food here not use seasoning at home? Definitely would not recommend to anyone.

The charming, chic and cozy atmosphere at Maison Selby is exquisite. My server was a pleasure. Dishes are presented beautifully. However, the flavour fell short, especially for the price. French onion soup was decent. Escargot was delicious. Beef bourguignon was tasty, but not as tender and somewhat dry. Steak frites lacked seasoning and the jus tasted just okay. At least dinner ended on a good note with the sticky toffee pudding. Overall, I think if the flavours matched the aesthetic this could easily be a 5-star restaurant.

Very beautiful restaurant. I had the Coq au Vin. I didn’t really like it. It was a bit dry. However, the deserts were good. The waiter was friendly. I wish they gave us better knives.

Do not order. We just ordered on Uber Eats. This restaurant used to package the food nicely so you could plate it once it got home. What we just got for $160 was a disgusting mess and super small portions. Like beyond small. We ordered the Beef Bourignon – it’s not even properly stew and it was slopped in a cardboard container. The duck breast is halfed and came with basically no sides. The duck mousse is miniature and the beet salad has no beets, it is basically just radicchio and frisée. I have left a message to complain, as this is appalling.
Either the restaurant management has decided to undercut any sort of value or there is a serious problem in their kitchen. As parents of a newborn who can’t go out to dinner and decided to have a nice meal, this is highly disappointing. If you’re not going to do takeout properly (which they did before), just don’t bother!

The cocktails and the food are extremely good, and the service is very friendly. I’ve been to this restaurant at least four times, and every visit has been a great experience. The food has always been consistently delicious, and you can really tell they put care into every dish. The burger is my favorite item on the menu, it’s always flavorful, well-prepared, and never disappoints. I always enjoy coming back and recommending this place to others because the quality and service have been excellent every time.

Maison Selby has a pleasant, cozy ambiance. I tried the Winterlicious prix-fixe menu. Unfortunately, the steak ordered medium was overcooked, and the mushroom pastry appetizer was served on a stale tart. Dessert was fine, just not really my taste. However, we tried the french onion soup from the dinner menu and it was really good. Service was okay but felt a bit rigid rather than warm, which I’ve noticed others have mentioned as well. Overall, nice setting, but the food didn’t quite meet expectations.
