I will start by saying that the service here is great. They are happy to help and the food comes quick. The problem I have here is that while some items are amazing (southside sandwich, hot honey chicken and more) other items just aren’t done right. I ordered the wings a while back (expecting good smoked wings from this type of joint) but they were dry and shriveled, seemed not fresh. I chalked it up to them having an off day and recently gave them another chance. While the seasoning was incredible, they were again completely dry and not juicy at all. Big disappointment. Nachos were also disappointing. That being said it’s a good spot if you know what to order.
There also isn’t a lot of seating so it fills up quickly, although when it’s quiet it’s a nice place to sit.

Each of my kids chose their own favorite, and everyone loved their food. Burgers, hot dogs, brisket, onion rings – all super fresh and delicious.
The atmosphere was relaxed and family-friendly, and the service was great.
We spent about $150 for all six of us, which is very reasonable for such a filling and tasty meal.
Definitely coming back!

I’ve been to Southside Steakhouse a few times now, and honestly, it’s just great every single time. It’s my absolute favorite steakhouse!
The place has a really nice atmosphere. It feels cozy and high-end, which is perfect for a special dinner, but mostly I go for the food.
And the food is the best part. I’ve tried a few of their different steak cuts, and they are seriously among the best I’ve ever gotten—super tender, cooked perfectly, and full of flavor. The main courses are definitely the reason to go. The staff is really friendly and on top of things, too.
Yeah, it’s a little expensive, but it’s totally worth it for the great food and overall excellent experience. I highly recommend it

A few things about Southside – don’t be fooled by the name – this eatery is delivering restaurant quality food. Their prime rib was next level – delicious, with great smoked flavor and texture. All of the food we ordered was executed really well – seasoned properly, nice portions, etc. The service was great, and the store was clean – great spot for family or date night. Overall, a winner, winner delicious dinner! We can’t wait to come back!

One of the best dining experiences in the tristate area is located in Lakewood, NJ and is called Southside Smokehouse. It features authentic smokehouse cuisine by postmaster Yitzy Goldstein, who has travelled to Texas and some of the best smoking competitions around the world, in order to perfect his mouthwatering recipes. One of my favorite things to order off his menu is his Jalapeño Burger. The jalapeño sauce takes hours to make and tons of jalapeños along with the right olive oil from Italy. It features two all beef patties sandwiched between some amazing sautéed onions, some lettuce. It is topped with some yummy maple glazed facon. They have everything from mouthwatering burgers and sandwiches to delicious salads and sides. What brought me in this Tuesday was a new dish I saw that would be available that night. It was one of the most delicious looking duck dishes I have ever seen. This duck breast is marinated in duck fat overnight, then put into an empty pan where the duck gets rendered down and gets this amazing crust. Yitzy adds some garlic and thyme into that rendered duck and the flavor continues to build. The dish (pictured below) was THE best duck I have ever tried. It was juicy, not gamey with a nice crust and oh so flavorful. It came with a side of mashed potatoes and green beans. It pays to check out specials from time to time. We also got the half pound of smoked pastrami brisket with their special rub, which is smoked for 18 hours. It is definitely one of our favorites. We had some Texas fries, featuring pulled smoked brisket topped with their special south side slaw. We also got an order of Smokey Tacos, some BBQ Poppers and a grilled chicken Caesar salad. Everyone left with a full stomach and smiles on their faces. Make sure to stop by and tell Yitz I sent you.
