If you’re craving a delicious steak and lively line dancing, Southern Junction is definitely the place to be. The staff is incredibly welcoming, and the atmosphere is fun and energetic. It can get busy on certain nights, but that just adds to the excitement.

I had a great time with the people I was with, and the music kept the crowd moving. A little blues mixed in from time to time would be a fun addition, but overall it’s a great spot and one I’d happily return to.

This is a great place for the atmosphere, music, and dancing—but unfortunately, not for the food service or management.
We visited last night to celebrate my son’s birthday and ordered three steaks (one to cook ourselves) and a hamburger. The steaks came out promptly, but the hamburger took over an hour to arrive. Our waitress was wonderful—she checked on us frequently, kept us updated, and sincerely apologized for the delay. She did everything she could to make the situation better, and we truly appreciated her effort.
When the hamburger finally arrived, it was brought out by the manager. I politely asked if any compensation could be offered due to the long wait. Instead of addressing the situation with understanding, I was given several excuses. When I asked again, she reluctantly offered 15% off the hamburger only, and her response made it clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority.
Despite this disappointing experience with the food and management response, we genuinely enjoyed the music, dancing, and overall atmosphere. Our waitress was fantastic, and she was the highlight of our visit. We will likely return for the entertainment, but not for the food.
It’s also worth noting that there is no cover charge on Thursdays, and the dance lessons are free—so you can still enjoy the fun atmosphere without spending any money.

I visited Texas from the UK recently and came here with a friend on a Thursday night for the line dancing beginners class. It was fun and the place was great – friendly, felt safe and welcoming. Excellent service and the food & entertainment were great too. If I lived there I’d be a regular.

We had a reservation at 7. We sat down and no one acknowledged we were there for at least an hour. My husband went to the bar and the bartender acknowledged 2 other men that arrived after him and then finally took his order. Was it because we are hispanic?? I don’t know but it seemed like that was the issue. As I read other reviews on here I feel like it was. All we wanted was a lovely date night. Have dinner and learn to dance. We did enjoy the dance lessons, the food once we got to order was good. But that is my only complaint is the customer service. I will come back one more time to see if it’s different next time because we genuinely did enjoy ourselves. I understand it’s a busy night and there are large groups but at least acknowledge me and tell me you will be with us shortly. It’s common curtsey.

This is a cool place. Huge dance floor. People were dancing and we were doing a line dance all at the same time. Drinks are light handed. So if you want a buzz I would get a shot.

I went on Thursday 12-4-25 for dance lessons and the website said “all you can eat sirloin.”The menu showed “all you could eat sirloin on Thursday.” After they delivered my sirloin they told me “there is NO all you can eat sirloin in December, sorry.” If I would have known this when ordering I would have ordered a more expensive steak.
It is sad that the management is so numbers focused that they will take a good customer and mislead them. Somebody needs to go back to customer service school because you failed. Fix your website, fix your menus and fix your customer relation skills. VERY Disappointing!!!

5-30-25 This is the epitome of an original Texas Honky Tonk. It’s a large dance floor that is directly adjacent to stage and if you’re lucky enough to be able to dance while Aaron Watson is singing on the stage you’ll feel like you’re in a movie. Amazing experience of being able to dance while at a concert.

What a horrible experience! The first thing I see is IT’S NOT THAT BUSY! LOT’S OF EMPTY TABLES. There is only ONE guy at the grill doing burgers & he had 17 orders hanging to do. We ordered steaks and appetizers so I didn’t think it would affect us. Wrong! He was the one guy preparing appetizers too. It took forever to get cokes and tea bc the waitress kept passing by saying “I promise you’re next.” My husband never got his tea so I was shown BY THE STAFF where to get my own! It took 30 minutes to take our order, appetizers never came, which were a meal for one of our daughters so she never got a meal, we had to cut some of our steak and potato to feed her. The steaks were good, potatoes were ok and cold but the worst thing was the manager’s attitude. She kept passing by bc the waitress explained our frustration to her, but she never stopped to acknowledge there was a problem until my husband waived her down. He asked her how is it possible to only have one guy at the grill and it’s an hour wait for appetizers. Her response was “I’m sorry you are having a problem with the fact we’ve been slammed.” She didn’t even offer to remove the 3 appetizers from the bill we never got so we told her we weren’t paying for them and she RELUCTANTLY agreed. The best thing about the place was the music and dance lessons… and that’s it. The place is old and musty and the bathroom smell is atrocious. You can smell it before you even enter. I wasn’t expecting Billy Bob’s but was looking for the same vibe. This place really made me miss the old Trail Dust which was head and shoulders above this place as far as customer service goes.

Great place to learn line dances with friends. There’s a couples lesson on Thursday night around 7:30pm and a line dance lesson around 8:30pm.

Ribeye steak was seasoned well. Texas toast was cold. Service is hit or miss, just depends on the night.

It’s a little loud with the music but you can still talk to the person next to you.

Love this place for concerts, there’s really no bad seat in the house. As busy as they get the waitresses are on top of their game.

I’ll admit it was a little weird to say the pledge of allegiance at a bar. I wasn’t offended but it was odd. And the atmosphere/scene is very boring. Bartender and band were great though!
