Throughout our visit, she seemed completely uninterested and was on her phone most of the time. even while bringing food. When our food arrived, she just set it down quickly and walked away without checking on us. We didn’t get basic things like soy sauce, ginger, Sriracha, or sweet-and-sour sauce for our egg rolls, and her attitude made it feel like we were inconveniencing her. It’s hard to ask for anything else when they’re running away from your table as soon as they toss you food down.
The restaurant itself felt a little rundown and not very clean. It just didn’t give me that comfortable or welcoming feeling I look for when dining out, especially with my child. We had been running errands all day, so we decided to stop in for a quick bite, but honestly, it was a mistake — I should’ve gone to my usual sushi spot instead.
As for the food, the sushi rolls were just okay — nothing special or memorable. Many of the items on the sushi boat looked like they had been sitting there for a while. I know because the spring rolls we grabbed were already cold with condensation on the lids, and one of the plates I tried to take almost tipped over because the lid was cracked.
There were only a couple of other tables occupied, so it wasn’t busy, but we still felt ignored. Between the dull atmosphere, lack of cleanliness, and poor service, the whole experience was disappointing from start to finish. Sadly, we won’t be returning.
I have been coming to the restaurant for about 9 years now but I will find a new sushi restaurant to go to. Because I pay good money and tip for what?
Also I had specifically said not to have the ginger and wasabi and we had to fish that out ourselves as well.
I will not be coming here for some time now.
One of the best parts of this place is the staff. The hosts are genuinely kind and take the time to remember our usual orders, which makes each visit feel welcoming and personal.
The atmosphere really depends on when you go. Mornings tend to be calm and quiet, while lunch and dinner can get louder and a bit chaotic with families and kids, so it’s good to plan based on the vibe you’re looking for.
The only downside is the interior appearance. The ceiling and overall look inside feel a bit worn and could use some attention, which might turn some people off. That said, if you’re more focused on the food than the aesthetics, it’s still an enjoyable spot.
Overall, a reliable place with good food and friendly service that keeps us coming back.
We had to order more the next day as we were still craving it!!! We will keep coming back!
We ordered online- I wasn’t sure how to order- rolls for $3?! Were they small? Were there two pieces per roll?
Nope- We way over ordered and glad we did.
Great sushi at a fantastic price.
Looks way more fun to dine in.
It’s in our road trip dining book now as “The great sushi road side attraction”
Thanks Akira!
