Perfectly average food. The quesadilla was so stuffed with cheese, meat, and beans as to be a real grease bomb. It’s served atop a serving of refried beans, making it extra unappetizing from a texture standpoint. My wife and I ordered a coke and a water, which we received, but the waitress brought no waters for our three kids. My wife’s taco order came with assembly required, which is the style some places, but would have been nice to know ahead of time. They do not take payment at the table, which I only put together after a lengthy wait and seeing another table pay at the register.

I live in New Mexico and visit family in St James. Lupe’s has become a family go-to. Authentic Mexican food that would stand out in Mew Mexico. Nice atmosphere. Good drinks. Super nice staff.

I’m a trucker from Georgia and ate Mexican cuisine in each of the 48 main states. This place has some of the finest food in the entire Country. Love the food and MARGARITAS !!!
The only problem I experienced was with the service. Unfortunately the server didn’t realize that when I asked about the Tacos that yes I wanted to eat them. The server’s also couldn’t make a Bahama Momma drink.

This was actually better than expected, considering I just picked a random place off the highway. Bonus – the main street it’s on is pretty cute, and there are two picnic tables outside the restaurant. This is actually one of the more authentic tasting mexican restaurants I’ve eaten at outside of CA. I got 3 tacos for lunch, think I should have gotten 4 due to size. The main reason I’m giving it 4 stars and not 5 is because the employees were not wearing masks (during covid), which I feel is important when handling food and talking with patrons all day long.

I visited st. James for a personal matter and I had stopped by this restaurant to eat and I have to tell ya’ll… it is indeed the best Mexican food you can try! Good service!! Good food!! Better price!! If I ever come back no doubt about it I would know where to eat. Try the FAJITA MIXED.

There were four of us who bought a dozen tacos to share between four of us. Four tacos each of steak, carnitas, and grilled chicken in soft shells. All four of us agree that the tacos were authentic and pretty amazing! We will be back soon!
