I was not impressed. We went closer to closing time after a busy night, so I almost understand, but they were out of everything. I ended up getting the tofu fried rice, and it was terrible. The tofu was completely unseasoned, the rice like it was seasoned with grease.
My partner got the steak salad. He said the steak was good, but I think the only thing they had left at that point was salad dressing, cause it was allll on there. Neither one of us could finish our gross meal. We weren’t offered a box for our left overs (which I guess is fine, cause I wouldn’t have eaten it anyway)
We didn’t get any drinks, as they were out of mixers. We tried to order sodas, but that was out, too, and the waiter couldn’t figure out how to refill the syrup. He didn’t offer any alternative.
I was disappointed because usually Mcmenamins does a better job that this. The only reason to go would be to get a passport stamp, but I wouldn’t recommend dining here for a special occasion

We’ve been here many times before for drinks and food. The ambience is really amazing and fun and cozy. We just stopped here after our main dinner for a drink, and it’s fun to see the pool from the restaurant. If you’re looking for a fun atmosphere and a tiki experience, this is a great place to go.

Great atmosphere, but that’s the only thing I can compliment. The service here appears to be hit or miss. I rolled the dice poorly and ended up sitting for 40 minutes with nobody offering to take my food order (despite asking me if I wanted to order food and providing a menu) or check up on me even to refill my water. I only had one drink (fashionably tiki) and found it weak and overly sweet.
Can’t recommend this place. If you’re in the greater Seattle area looking for a tiki bar experience there are many better options out there.

McMenamins Anderson School is such an interesting place. Used to be a school and now transformed to a hotel with a variety of restaurants and bars, one of them having a big indoor swimming pool. We chose to visit the swimming pool building which also is home to Nui Nui, a Polynesian inspired restaurant. For our lunch visit, we had three entrees (see pics) that are worth ordering. Definitely will be back to try other fare and their Polynesian inspired cocktails, or even the other restaurants/bars at this McMenamins complex. Highly recommended place to visit if you are in Bothell, WA. (Bring bathing suits!)

Generally quieter than the rest of this McMenamins complex, so it is more likely you will get seating right away. Good food. Service is a little slower due to the proximity to the kitchen, but not too much longer. Delicious and good service!

Really fun tiki bar, the decor is fascinating to look at while enjoying delicious drinks. The food is quite tasty and large enough portions for dinner. Service is quick and friendly, easy parking, tons of seating without feeling cramped. Great spot!

The Jamaican rice bowl was amazing amd the drinks were really good. The mojito actually had fresh lime juice in it which doesn’t happen at other restaurants!

I hosted a New Years Eve party for my hiking group here on Dec 24th, 2025. Joe was amazing, polite, kept his cool, and was patient with the 28 of us who showed up that evening. Originally we were only supposed to have a couple small areas but we ended up needing most of 1/3 of the bar. Joe took care of us. Thanks! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The rooms are great!
The pool is great, the water is warm. Showers at the pool are not so good!!!
But pool is separate 80 mts from the hotel building, you have to dry, dress and cover very well to not get freeze .
It doesn’t include breakfast.
