Thank you Carla and Captain John’s for a great lunch. My folks have come here several times so we came with them and it was excellent. Great service from the moment we walked in the door. Great onion rings, good portions, lots of tasty options. The buns on the sandwich are light and fluffy. Great spot for a hearty seafood lunch.

We entered and the noise level was loud. So we asked if we could sit outside and happy we did. Others came out and told us they wished they’d been outside where the noise level was lower.
The seafood platter was OK but not the best I have had. The salad was good for $3 more and the potato salad was good.
This is our first time here and we came because of the reviews. So maybe my expectations were too high from reading them.
My wife got the Cajun shrimp and scallops which she liked and said was good not too spicy but flavorful.

Tried this place for lunch and we really liked it. Food was fresh, the haddock is their most popular dish so we tried it grilled, fried and in a sandwich. Service was great, our server was polite, and made good suggestions.

Nice bar, good atmosphere. I went for the whole belly clams, admit they are hard to find in SC. The clams were good but could be great with a little more batter and fried more crispy. For 6oz of clams they charged me $30. My next craving will take me to Joe Loves!
Update: I went back and had the whole belly clams with more batter and crispy they were great! Priced at $29 for 6oz.

The service at this establishment is commendable, with the staff being exceptionally courteous and diligent. However, the food quality falls short of expectations. The meals are rather austere for the price charged, although none of the dishes were particularly unpleasant. Nevertheless, I believe that the quality of food should be commensurate with the cost, and unfortunately, this is not the case here. While I do not intend to be overly critical, I feel that the standards for this establishment are not being met.

I ordered chicken tenders,fried shrimp
And a crab cake sandwich. Tenders were over fried and crab cake sandwich the inside is so mushy and the outside was burnt. The bun overpowered the crab cake way too much bread. I have to say the fried shrimp was really good. I was a little upset that I did not get any utensils or napkins since I’m out of town and driving to another state I was in a hurry and I should have asked.
But I was really looking forward to the crab cake sandwich and that was the biggest disappointment.

I i’ve been going to Captain John’s for many years each time I get the lobster roll it is smaller. The roll is even smaller. Very little lobster on it.. I hope the portions go back to what they were or I’m going to have to find a new place to get my lobster roll.

Excellent experience, food was terrific. Sat at the bar and bartender was so friendly, professional and very attentive. We had haddock for our main entree, was delicious. Highly recommend and would return again and again.

Very much worth the trip to Captain John’s.
We had the seafood combo which consisted of whitefish, Shrimp and scallops. We also had a fried oyster sandwich with dirty rice and we also had a Philly cheesecake sand.
