After being seated by the pleasant hostess we were greeted by Ariella, our server, who seemed to perform double duty as the bartender. I was asked if I was a member of their rewards program and gave the server my phone number so she could see if I had any rewards or special offers (I didn’t).
We skipped the appetizers and focused on the lunch menu, which, like most other chain restaurants these days offers a two-item deal. I ordered the BBQ chicken salad and a mushroom/pepperoni/sausage pizza. While we waited for our entrees, the server brought us a small plate of bread and olive oil, which was a nice, unexpected treat.
I enjoyed my meal and felt that the portion and quality were worth the $13.99 price. For dessert, we ordered the butter cake and build-your-own sundae. I thought the butter cake, which comes with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream was quite good, but would’ve been better if the entire cake was as warm as the center. I still recommend it.
I enjoyed my CPK experience and would consider adding it back to my rotation.
CPK does not validate parking, FYI.
Someone brougth the meal out and i never received the drink. I fanned him down to ask about it still never received it. I then asked another staff member to get me the drink and she did . Meanwhile my toddlers meal was already finished. I stacked plates during dining and not once did he remove any of them any time that he came back. It was as if he tried to stay away from our table intentionally. I havent dined at cpk in a while so i was excited to get a full course meal. After the service we received i was no longer interested in spending another dime in an establishment that i wasnt welcomed . I cashed out, still tipped him the bare minimum and went on my merry way. It is worth mentioning that the other staff members were polite ESPECIALLY the individuals at the host stand who were bubbly and being friendly to my toddler both on arrival and departure. Thank you individuals.
The menu offered a delightful variety of California-inspired dishes, all prepared with fresh ingredients. We ordered multiple dishes. Overall, California Kitchen provided a fantastic combination of excellent service, delicious food, and a warm atmosphere, and we look forward to returning soon!!
I visited on February 27, 2026, at approximately 9:00 PM with my family, and the experience was unacceptable from start to finish.
We waited 30 minutes just to have our order taken, followed by another 45 minutes for the food to arrive. Unfortunately, the problems only escalated once the food finally came out.
My son’s burger was specifically ordered without vegetables, yet it arrived 44 minutes later, cold and completely covered in lettuce. What is most concerning is that neither the server nor the kitchen manager noticed an error that was visually obvious. This reflects a serious lack of quality control and attention to detail.
My salad, advertised with steak cuts, contained only four tiny pieces of meat, which is far from what any reasonable guest would expect. Meanwhile, my other son’s chicken Alfredo pasta arrived with virtually no Alfredo sauce at all, turning what should have been a simple dish into a dry and disappointing plate.
While the restaurant itself was not dirty, it was visibly neglected and poorly maintained, giving the impression of operational disorganization rather than normal peak-hour pressure. The General Manager can easily verify everything described here by reviewing the security cameras from that evening.
I have no interest in wasting more time listening to explanations or excuses for what was, frankly, a complete operational failure.
It is genuinely disappointing because the location itself has great potential. With proper management, accountability, and attention to execution, this could be a strong restaurant. Right now, however, it feels like the team is putting significant effort into doing everything the wrong way.
I hope leadership takes this feedback seriously and implements meaningful changes, because guests deserve far better than what we experienced.
The service was great, we were seated in Jenny’s section and she was very hospitable.
As for the atmosphere, there was a consistent, loud high pitched sound that was in the background during out evening visit, it would be a deal breaker for visiting again.
