Fantastic service and the food was outstanding. We had the ravioli with prawns and the special pasta of the day with braised beef. They were so lovely, we can’t wait to go back. And the starters, wow! We had the carpaccio and the arancini. Highly recommended

Excellent food and service! It was pouring rain outside, but I enjoyed a delicious Italian meal. Although I didn’t have any cash and couldn’t leave a tip, the bearded waiter still provided excellent service!

Service 15/10. All the guys are very attentive and on it!
Food 15/10. And this is coming from a northern Italian their ravioli are top quality.
Lovely atmosphere too, just a bit too loud at some point but probably due to a table behind us that was being obnoxiously loud!
Overall recommend highly!

We had a very good experience from start to finish. The chaps who work there are also pretty funny and seem to be actual mates, giving off a warm and family like feeling when you speak to them.

Also, the best calamari I’ve ever consumed

We had one of the best dining experiences of our lives at Il Vicolo. From the moment we walked in, it felt like stepping into somewhere genuinely lived in. Warm, confident, and unapologetically authentic.

Jennifer was absolutely phenomenal. She did not just serve wine, she described it. The Nebbiolo and Barolo were not just items on a list. She brought them to life. She explained the structure, the tannins, the story behind them, and why each would work with what we were eating. There was no hard sell, just real knowledge and real passion. That kind of guidance elevates a meal into something memorable.

One of the managers, previously from Brockwood, brought a calm assurance to the whole evening. Attentive without hovering. Professional without being stiff. You can feel when a place has earned its reputation through years of hard work, and Il Vicolo carries that quiet confidence beautifully.

Every dish was a culinary delight. Generous, layered, deeply Italian in spirit. But what truly sets this place apart is the atmosphere. The comfort of somewhere that has been worked in, refined, and celebrated properly. No gimmicks. No fuss. Just bloody good food, brilliant wine, and people who genuinely care.

An absolute culinary delight from start to finish. We will be back

Adore this restaurant, fabulous food, wine and staff. This visit was a little disappointing in terms of service. We were extremely rushed – starters dropped to our table very quickly (almost too quickly!) as we were still eating (not even half way through!) we were told the kitchen wanted to clear a big group order first, before I could say we were happy to wait for our mains (again we were still getting though our starters) they pointed to the fact the mains were already cooked and sitting on the station. I felt rushed to finish my starter so I could have a hot main – I was really annoyed by this as this was a special birthday booking and this is a favourite spot of ours! Again the large group was prioritised and our forks barely touched our plates before dessert was rushed out. Thankfully we were okay to stay a little longer to final our wine.

The food is divine (as it was this time – just a little cold!) and normally the atmosphere is homey, relaxed and well paced this time it missed that mark! We do hope to try again as the staff are lovely and you feel like part of the family!

A true Italian experience in the heart of Dublin! It really feels like Italy: the atmosphere, the people, and of course, the food. We shared some antipasti, and I had pasta as a main dish. Totally worth it.

Beautiful restaurant, authentic Italian food and considering the quality and location, really good value for money. We had a lovely evening with friends and staff could not have been more helpful. Table at the window was perfect for a group of 6. Loved it! We will be back.
