Once inside, though, the experience quickly turned around. As an architecture lover, I was blown away by the beautifully restored mansion. Every room was grand, thoughtfully designed, and full of ornate details. The hostess noticed my interest and gave me a booklet on the mansion’s history, which I appreciated.
We were seated promptly, with fireplaces lit and proper, polished service throughout. The tea service was lovely: light, airy scones with cream and jam, and excellent finger sandwiches. Before the dessert course we had this nice creamy smooth and not too sweet dessert that was a standout favorite.
The final dessert course, inspired by Salvador Dalí and surrealist art, was visually stunning with incredible chocolate detail, but unfortunately far too sweet and fruit-forward for my taste. We didn’t finish either.
Despite the rough valet start and overly sweet desserts, we had a wonderful experience and I look forward to returning and having a meal in one of the other gorgeous dining areas.
Love the sandwiches and cakes!
Lychee black tea smells so good and tastes delicious!
Staffs are lovely!
Valet parking only.
The only disappointment was that there was no special recognition of our anniversary. Most restaurants mark the occasion in some way, even a simple chocolate message on a plate can make the evening feel more personal and memorable. Given the high level of service The Mansion is known for, I was surprised and a bit let down that nothing was done to acknowledge it.
Overall a good experience.
There is a vegetarian tasting menu for the same $175 price but no fancy ingredients or approaches from what I could tell from menu. Sounds really overpriced.
I think it’s a bit expensive for the portion sizes on the tasting menu. The entrees I saw in dining room looked like a better value; I wish I would have done that instead.
And the food? The chef never ceases to amaze. This time, the steak, mashed potatoes and mushrooms were absolutely divine. Although it didn’t “go with the meal” it didn’t matter – the tortilla soup was an explosion of flavors like no other. And not to be dramatic, but the chocolate martini was one of the most divine creations to ever touch my lips.
Everything was beyond delicious. Exceptional food, first-class service ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ and an unforgettable time at one of Dallas’ best. And one last thing—Jimmy deserves a raise for how he continues to amaze.
Staffs are super friendly and got my a crème brûlée which tastes amazing!
The ambience is giving a peaceful French garden vibe which I enjoyed to get my day started.
Would recommend for dine in here even just for the view.
