I remember very clearly be 4-5 years old walking into the original building. It was absolutely packed. I would sit at the window & watch Vince toss pies in awe of his talent. He would always give us a wave and a couple of lollies. All of my life that pizza was the epitome of what a pie should be and that flavor has been in my heart all of my life. Theres no mistaking it, there is no comparison. I havent had a Vinnie Pie in at least 13 years. While I’ve had food of the competition who purchased his old restaurants, they arent even close. I was thrilled knowing we were headed to the G.O.A.T. of all spots, The OG Pizza Park. Of course the atmosphere has very much changed. The smell of that pizza brought back every memory of all of the slices that helped me become a chubby kid, lol. One of our usuals, a pepperoni pie with sausage and peppers on half. The pie came out a bit different. The Cornicione was not quite as huge bubbly & crusty compared to every other in the past. Missing were the thin charred areas we loved to pull off and eat first. But it was fairly good. The base was a bit thicker than the original, a little more doughy & no burnt crispies embedded in the bottom. It needed more time in the oven, it needed its iconic char. There was far less cheese than I’ve ever seen on a Vinnie Pie. The competitors kept with the incredible, thick layer, no need for extra cheese, cheese. Which was my favorite part. The pepperoni still spicy & delicious and the sausage still knocks your socks off. The ever present grease puddle was there because its not Vincents without it. The flavor is relatively similar to what I remember but there are differences that hurt my heart. Yes, it was delicious, yes, we will go back but forever my soul will long for what is no longer a possibility. I applaud the family for keeping it as true as you can in this economy.
I also miss that little bit of cigarette ash…. maybe thats the part we miss the most, outside of our love for the man, the legend.
Today’s customer will never truly understand. They cry about it being “burnt,” Its not burnt, its perfect. If you want a corporate crappy 8 minute pizza please go eat at Dominoes.

The pizza was excellent. We got the half baked which you finish at home because of the long drive home. The “works but” pizza is a bit expensive but really good. The pepperoni was very good too.

Love just being there. The service lady was wonderful and would tip twice! Really enjoyed the delicious salad with laughing talk in the atmosphere. Huge pizza worth the money. More puff in the pie would make perfect. A diamond.

The battle for the best pizza in Pittsburgh often comes down to a few select names.. Fiori’s, Aiello’s, Mineo’s, but truly, the best pizza in the Pittsburgh area is right here in Forest Hills. My family has been coming here for years, and nothing can compare to a good Vinnie Pie. Their mushroom pizza is my all-time favourite. Highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend.

But I do remember how good the pizza was from here. Absolutely amazing one of the best slices iv ever had. Real shame ill probably never get the chance to have agen I’d strongly recommend to anybody in the area o my dayz so good. One thing be careful on the cobbled road I had a little walk up while waiting on food. Twist myself up coming back down lol

This was a total miss for me. I had been wanting to try Vincent’s for some time. It was a huge let down. I gave it a two because the salad and salad dressing was great and i loved the atmosphere! But the pizza was plain awful! Truth be told-i actually love “pizza juice” aka grease…. When it’s naturally baked, out of the oven that way. But when it’s ladled on extra heavy afterward, it’s completely gross! When we’re doing a pizza review, we always order the same thing. A pepperoni pizza-for equal comparison however, we saw the heavily loaded pizzas as we were being seated. So we ordered light pepperoni, there was no way that grease was how it baked naturally. This pizza would have been excellent without that added grease dump disaster. The pepperoni flavor wasn’t my favorite either. Neither option we ordered (pizza and salad) were good for the next day lunches, the salad was soggy with the heavy cheese, and well, the pizza wasn’t good out of the oven-so it didn’t get better for leftovers! Sadly this is a hard no from me. The drive wasn’t worth the salad.

Fresh hand-tossed pizza dough….one of the best, if not THE best pizza joint in the county. Salads are fresh. Beer and wine only. No pasta meals. No chicken wings….huge pizzas.

Delicious as usual. The mountains of delicious toppings put this pizza at the top of the scale. I would recommend eating in compared to takeout, all the good grease n juices get soaked up in the cardboard on the way home. Still one of the best pizzas around!

All other pizza shops in the State take notice! This is how you top a pie!!
It’s called “the works but” and it’s delicious!

Have been going to Vinnies since I worked in North Braddock in 2006. Someone introduced me to it and it’s been one of my absolute favorites ever since! This pizza I had in December was just as good as every other one I’ve had there over the years. I do miss the old pepperoni but this was still really good!

I’ve been going to Vincent’s since before I was born. My dad started going in the 50’s when it opened, and I started going in utero in early 74′. We would go once a week, after violin lessons, and I would stand on the bench watching Vinny spin the dough with a cigarette hanging from his lips. I’ve lived in many states, but I’ve never found pizza like Vincent’s. As a friend of my dad’s once exclaimed, “That’s not a pizza, that’s a casserole!”
