The seating arrangement is very unorganized and the hostesses seemed confused as they sat customers. We were initially told our wait would be 20-25 minutes, which turned out to be closer to an hour. Even though there were empty tables and several parties, including us, were waiting to be seated. We were told they don’t seat people by the number of empty tables and the kitchen was behind, so that was holding them up from seating customers. That made no sense to me but we continued to wait. It was so bad customers started to leave. I might have understood if this was an unusual situation for them, but one of the hostesses told us that they are always busy like it was today. If that’s the case, I’d think they would have a better plan for dealing with it instead of having their waiting customers stand and wait so long.
The parking situation is horrible for the location, which is pretty much out of their control. But it just added to my frustration. Our appetizers were pretty good, but my entree was underwhelming. I ordered the Southern Penne Pasta, which the menu described as having blackened chicken. It wasn’t. And it was bland. We ordered drinks, never received them. Tickets got lost. All in all, our visit was a hot mess!
On a positive note, our server, Ellie, was nice though.
So, I came back on Monday to try it and was pleasantly surprised. The service was friendly and the food was very good. I had the chicken pasta, which was excellent and the portion was generous enough that I was able to take some home for dinner.
I would definitely recommend it. From the outside it looks like it might just be burgers and fried food, but the menu was a pleasant surprise.

We ordered the Cheese Fries ($9), Southern Penne Pasta ($17), and Southside Philly Steak Sandwich ($15). The steak sandwich was pretty good – the steak was cooked well and was very tender and flavorful while the peppers, onion, and cheese completed the sandwich. My only complaint was that the sandwich was a bit too buttery and felt heavy. It comes with fries, but I switched to mashed potatoes at no extra cost. Unfortunately, the mashed potatoes were not good and tasted store-bought. The cheese fries were pretty mid too, the fries were not crispy and the cheese added no additional flavor. I didn’t try the pasta, but my friend didn’t finish it all and didn’t take the leftovers home, so that wasn’t a good sign. The service was good, and the overall vibes of the place is nice, especially the outdoor seating. Overall, I would not recommend for the food – maybe just a place for people who don’t care too much about the food to have some alright food and socialize.
As for the food, it was just okay. I was a little disappointed that I couldn’t get a virgin margarita, seems like a simple request for a brunch spot with a full bar. Also, I wasn’t expecting pork in the breakfast potatoes, and that wasn’t clearly listed on the menu. That caught me off guard since I don’t eat pork.
The chicken fried steak is pretty good also!
