We started with the classic chips and dip: fresh, crispy tortilla chips with that perfect light seasoning, a big bowl of ultra-creamy queso that was smooth and addictive, and their house salsa (served in the cute carafe) that was fresh, tangy, and just the right kick. We could’ve made a meal out of that alone!
For mains, my boyfriend went for the enchiladas and loved every bite—he had a combo with beef, cheese, and chicken enchiladas topped with both red sauce (bold and smoky) and green sauce (bright and zesty), all smothered in melted cheese. They were perfectly rolled, flavorful, and comforting. I ordered the beef burrito with cheese sauce—it was massive, packed with seasoned ground beef, wrapped in a soft flour tortilla, and drenched in that rich, melty cheese sauce that made it next-level indulgent. Came with fluffy Mexican rice and hearty refried beans on the side, both seasoned just right and piping hot.
Everything tasted fresh, homemade, and full of that authentic flavor we crave. We left stuffed, happy, and already talking about what to order next time. If you’re in Branson and want reliable, delicious Mexican food with great value, head to El Lago—you won’t be disappointed! 10/10!
Took a few minutes for someone to show up to seat us.
Chips and salsa showed up quickly, getting drink order took a little while, food order was taken fairly quickly.
Then waited for my food for quite some time and when it arrived it was kinda warm, but no way was it hot and fresh. Beef and chicken enchiladas were good. Cannot recommend the cheese enchiladas.
Place was not busy at all, so do not understand why my food was lukewarm when it arrived at the table.
Overall, typical Mexican food. Nothing great, just decent. Service was decent.
Prefer my food to arrive hot and fresh, so rated it a little lower.
It is a huge restaurant with plenty of seating.
The food was OK. There is a LOT to choose from on the menu. I get overwhelmed with so many choices and I ended up with fajitas. I think I’d have rather had nachos but I didn’t see them. My food was okay. It just didn’t come on a sizzling platter which seemed odd to me . I’ve never gotten fajitas that didn’t come on a sizzling platter.
He brought my food first, and if that had been because the platter was sizzling, and he didn’t want to understand. My husband’ meal came several minutes after. My husband ordered the burrito deluxe. He said it was okay but the cheese wasn’t melted and there was no red sauce even though he ordered it. it seems like a very large serving.
we both had unsweet tea, which was good. The chips were good, but the second basket was very dark. The salsa is interesting. I couldn’t decide if I liked it or not. I definitely loved the heat level.
We had excellent service by a bunch of people. Someone was always filling our cup or taking a plate or bringing us chips.
Overall, it was a decent stop with great service, but the food just didn’t quite wow us.
I didn’t give 5 stars because there wasn’t anything that really stood out. Everything was good, but very average.
