I moved to Orland Park over a year ago. I eat most of my meals out, especially breakfast, so I researched and asked around about the breakfast/brunch restaurants in the area and have eaten at almost every one of them multiple times, except for the Southfork. I ate there for the first time today (2/15) and am a little torn.
The good:
We received a pleasant greeting upon arrival and were seated immediately. While the decor is a little dated, high grades for the condition and cleanliness of the restaurant. Our server came right away with coffee and I found her to be to my liking. The menu is very good – not too sparse and not too overwhelming. They have handwritten combination meals in the menu, which I chose…scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, French toast. My girlfriend ordered similar. The food arrived very quickly and it was prepared perfectly. Our server checked in on us a few times offering to refill coffee which is one of the most important things for me. When we were done eating, I did not have to chase down the bill. We paid at the counter and left.
The preferred:
You want me to keep coming back? Make sure that your servers are offering their name when they come to the table…ours did not. Another thing that will keep me coming back is flavored creamer on the table. You don’t have to put all varieties as most people are perfectly satisfied with the vanilla creamer that mostly all restaurants now have on their tables.
The not so good:
The level of conflicting background noise? There is music playing over loudspeakers, then the volume is up on the TVs and then, of course, you have customers conversing. That’s a lot going on at once. Please lose the TV’s….or at least the TV volume.
The awful:
Why are you running a power vacuum cleaner in the restaurant while people are sitting there eating? If the noise wasn’t bad enough already, now you add the noise of a vacuum cleaner? Also, you could have 14 HEPA filters on a vacuum cleaner and it’s still going to blow a cloud of dust into the air for people to breathe and on people’s food as they’re eating. I’m hoping this is a one-time thing.
All of that said, I will definitely be returning because this restaurant really hits on the most important aspects of the experience. I’ll look forward to editing this review at a later date.

Edit: I went here today and got a skillet. 1/2 way through it my wife noticed mine had a hair in it. I stopped eating it and we told the waitress. She was incredibly nice and apologetic. If I had to rate the service on just her I’d give 5 stars but the others brought that down. I wasn’t angry as stuff happens in life and no one did it on purpose. She had the owner and a manager working on it. They looked at it and took it off my bill. My problem was that when I went up to pay, the owner and another lady scattered as I walked up. My back was turned towards the front end the whole time but when we left my wife told me “that lady that took your payment and asked if everything was ok knew about the hair because she was right there talking about it.” But as she took my payment she started a conversation with another employee instead of saying “hey we’re sorry that happened.” I actually thought the owner would come to the table and apologize but he didn’t. And then when he walked away as I approached we decided we won’t be back. The problem isn’t the accident that happened. It was the way they made me feel like I was a burden to them. The owner lost a good customer by not simply saying “I’m sorry.” The original review I posted below is now useless and I take it back.
Love this place. We need to support restaurants like Southfork. Excellent place for breakfast for dinner

On sunday Its come early due to the LAMB. my friend said this is the only place for lunch on Sunday for lsmb..she had no left overs. The meatloaf I had was like a taste of HOME with dark brown gravy on a open faced sandwich. Generous size with soup.. I will be coming here again.

We were in the area and my dad had been craving Liver. This place popped up and so we gave it a try. The food, the service. 10 outta 10. Our waitress was simply fantastic. The best we’ve had in a long while. My dad especially loved the liver and onions!

The waitress was very pleasant, but the chicken salad sandwiches were absolutely disgusting. They smelled like plastic and even though I had to force half their disgusting sandwich down, they still charged for an entire sandwich. Even my daughter who eats everything didn’t even eat it. The owners are greedy and very rude. Terrible place!

My daughter and I got our dinner carry-out. She gets chicken alfredo quite often because of how delicious it is. I got turkey, dressing and gravy it was MARVELOUS!!!!!! TURKEY WAS JUICY and PLENTIFUL. The Dressing was Savory and covered in gravy!!!!!!!!!!!! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!! Tonight I got Roast Loin of Pork. Not as good as the turkey. The pork was tough and not juicy.

This place is amazing. Me and my hubby came here after a night about at essence suites and I wasn’t sure about it but omg. The coffee amazing. Everything is simple but done right. Price is completely reasonable if I wasn’t so far away from me I would come every week. My waitress was completely amazing. My coffee cup was never empty. My pics don’t do it justice. I was too eager to be fat and eat because the whole place smells amazing. Debi was our server and she is the nicest person ever. She had so many tables and never slacked on us. So if the owners are reading give that woman her props and I’ll be back for sure to ask if you did lol.
