Social Profile:

Rao’s Bakery was founded in 1941 by Johnny Rao. Johnny Rao and family opened the bakery at its present location, the corner of 10th and Calder in Beaumont, Texas. The bakery was known for its Italian cream cakes, cookies, and cream puffs. Through the years Rao’s had several different owners, but its doors never closed. We specialize in coffees and baked goods including cakes, muffins, cookies and more. Our gelato is fantastic as well.

Long-running local cafe & bakery chain serving coffee, breakfast, sandwiches, gelato & more.

We love Rao’s! Pastries, baked goods, breakfast and lunch, all the food is fabulous. Their specialty coffees are some of the best around as well as their regular coffee. They make their own in house whip topping that is incredible on the specialty coffees and hot chocolate (and probably anything else you want whip topping on!). The service is top notch and fast too. It has a nice little Italian cafe feel to the whole place and just makes you feel relaxed and at home. Just a great place!!

Love this little bistro! I prefer the “less sweet” items, so the Thumbprint cookie and the Sand Tart are my faves; but my hubby loves all the sugary goodness and peanut butter anything is his favorite. He also had the six layer cake/pie thingy. It was huge! And delicious! He also ordered a hand-crafted shake using three gelato flavors. It was so yummy! There are adorable decorations and gifts for purchase as well.

Rao’s is a beloved community staple off Cypresswood, and for good reason. With its welcoming ambience, cozy atmosphere, and bold coffee, it’s a local favorite that consistently draws me back.

I usually come in focused on my morning coffee—especially their exclusive, robust 1941 Anniversary Blend—but their tempting pastry case makes discipline challenging, especially when I’m trying intermittent fasting. I’ll admit, their chocolate chip cookies are dangerously good—perfectly sweet, chewy, and irresistible. And truthfully, there are mornings when the enticing aroma of freshly baked cinnamon rolls wins me over, ending my fast a bit prematurely. Worth it? Absolutely.

If you’re looking for a reliable coffee spot, have a sweet tooth that refuses to be ignored, or just want an inviting place for your weekly gatherings, Rao’s Bakery, Coffee, and Cafe is absolutely worth visiting. Now, back to enjoying my coffee—it’s exactly the bold kick-start my morning needed.

I read this place had a good key lime pie, so I took a drive to find out. I didn’t know what to expect of this place. It was a delightful little cafe and the staff was friendly. I got a whole pie to go for $20 and it was a very good key lime pie, bit on the tart side but I enjoyed a slice when I got home. I definitely will go back and enjoy lunch or dessert with a coffee or some gelato here.

Not very impressed… if you want drip coffee, you gotta get it yourself. And it was lukewarm. I got another coffee that I didn’t really want just because it was hotter. When I got to the car, I realized that the coffee was not very good and the cream had a weird taste to it like it was about to go bad. Looks like, unfortunately, I had another bad experience.I had high hopes for Raos, .The kalache with sausage was delicious. But I believe it, it’s sat in the warmer too long. And the sausage dried out and the pastry was hard and chewy. Definitely need improvement on the coffee. Circle.K coffee machine makes better coffee than you guys have any day of the week. I’m an avid coffee drinker, and I just drink regular drip with a little cream and sweetener. I would give your coffee on a scale, from 1 to 10, about a 3.
No freshness or flavor and the cream tasted bad.I threw it away. It’s a shame that a convenience store has better coffee than you guys and a lot of other places. In Houston.

I took my sister here not too long ago after an amazing day hitting the town enjoying life and the amazing weather that has been hitting our area lately.

This small cafe is located in a relatively quiet and small shopping center. The area is safe and close to home.

The coffee was just what I wanted, and my sister loved getting a two (2) different flavors of their delicious gelato.

We sat outside, relaxed, and chitchatted, while taking in the beauty of the world around us. Life was good that day, and I trust in God that feeling will continue long into the future.

Thank you to everyone at Rao’s Bakery for such a magical moment that I got to share with my beloved sibling.

God bless and good journey!

Came here for dessert after eating a couple restaurants down. This place has a wonderful atmosphere and the staff was really nice but seemed a little disorganized when we were trying to get our desserts. The key lime pie was phenomenal, very tart and not too sweet. Their pineapple Gelato taste just like taking a bite into a fresh pineapple. Overall we would love to go back to try their lunch menu and more sweet treats!

Let me start off by saying thank you to the amazing staff Angelina and Soleil! They were kind and very helpful. This was my first time dining in and won’t be my last, the atmosphere was so peaceful and perfect for 6am coffee run before work. The baked goods were so delicious, the muffins really hit the spot with my coffee!
