I have had plenty of Hip Hop Fish and Chicken in the past. This was my first time trying the new one in Columba, MD. I walked in and placed my order, both gentlemen in the front were friendly and attentive.
After placing my order, the place filled up with customers. After awhile, I was still waiting for my order but noticed people who came in after me, were getting their orders first. Another gentleman noticed and asked about his order. It was sitting there so they finally bagged it up.
So I asked as well, mine was just sitting there as well. That kind of bothered me, as I said, they were very nice but their process was a little off.
The food itself did not blow me away. The fish was not very flavorful and tasted basically like the cornmeal they fried it in and the flesh was a bit mushy.
The chicken was fried nicely but again, no flavor. I do know that they put their seasoning on afterward but they could have made sure to season it well.
Overall, it got the job done but did not blow my socks off. I have had it better at other locations. They get a bonus for introducing me to something new: Kool aid Soda…it was not bad.

Food is the main event. I get the 20 shrimp piece combo and order a Mac n Cheese on the side with a piece of chicken breast extra seasoning

This is new to columbia. They do great catfish and they have gizzards and livers as well. I always get extra because it does well in the air frier.

I was greeted very welcoming and friendly upon entering the establishment. Everything was clearly prices on the digital board overhead. I was giving a beaker to know when the food is ready. The waiting area has chairs, there’s also a dining area that was clean. The bathroom was clean and did not need a code to open eventhough the lock has a keypad. The Food was hot and the put a lot of lemon pepper as requested. This may be the only location that sells the seasoning.

Walked in here on 2/11/26 and ordered chicken gizzards, the 6 mix, 6 chicken tenders dinner, jalapeño poppers, fried okra, Mac n cheese and potatoes salad. After I paid my receipt said 6:12pm, I didn’t walk out of there until 7pm with my food. Ppl were coming in after me, ordering and leaving with their food before I did. When I walked in to order there was only 1 person ahead of me and there were 3 cooks doing nothing! My order was forgotten and not made until I complained about the wait time. When my order was finally made nobody apologized or said anything about making me wait almost an hour for a to go order. The food wasn’t great o and by the way they didn’t give us our potatoe salad we paid for! Chicken tenders and fries are so generic. I will never ever come back and I would recommend to anyone looking for chicken to stick to KFC or Popeyes!!!!!

Usually not a hip hop chicken fan but this location is really good and always consistent. The food is fresh and hot and the seasoning is so yummy. Price is very reasonable.

The place is a little beat up but the guys working were very nice, the food was a great deal as far as chicken breast meal for me and tender meal for my kid. I think I paid less than 16$. I’d go again if we lived near there. Oh nothing very healthy here, so just have that expectation. All deep fried

Hip Hop always has a long wait no matter the location since the food is made to order, this location is no different. But the staff is much nicer than any of the other locations I’ve been to. And, I have been to quite a few different locations. I was thanked for my business and even accommodated for the longer than estimated wait time.
The food was packaged nicely which helped the skin on the food to not get soggy before we made it to our destination. We ordered whiting, chicken wings, buffalo wings, and fruit salad. The fruit was very fresh and crisp. Everything was fried perfectly and nothing was burned or dried out. HUGE PLUS—the chicken did not have a fishy taste, so the fish and chicken had to have been cooked in separate grease.
