Found easy close parking, at 5pm dinner rush an I’m not a huge Mexican food fan of prefer I’d make it at home but this one right here changed my mind I will forever order the Texas rice it was the best thing I’ve ever eaten from a Mexican restaurant!!! 12/10 on looks taste an overall quality my man got steak fajitas an with jalapeños an man oh man was that tasty as well we most definitely will be coming back!!!

Ate here a few days ago and left unimpressed. Ordered a quesadilla that was drowning in grease, and it still had onions when I asked for none, so the kitchen failed there. Our server wasn’t friendly, never smiled at us and would just drop things off at our table without a word, barely stopping to do so, and leave immediately. It felt like he cared more about getting us out asap than giving good service, like he just didn’t want to deal with us, so we won’t be back.

My wife and I have eaten at several Mexican restaurants and we agreed that Romo’s is so far the best. The prices were on par, but the servings were much bigger than other places.
The staff was friendly, but I do wish they had asked about my Dr, Pepper refill just 1 time.
My wife ordered the vegetarian taco salad without mushrooms, it had mushrooms. She took them out, it was just human error. So nothing to get upset over.
The food was good, I had a medium Margareta, next time small.

You get a lot of food for the price, and as I said the staff was nice. We’ll go back, I think it will be our Mexican restaurant of choice. Next time I’ll take my son & daughter-in-law she is Latino and they both speak Spanish.

I recommend it.

We’ve been struggling finding a great mexican restaurant here in Cookeville. They’re all ok but not “this is the place” for us. We’ve been to most places several times. Romos is always consistent and we get along with the staff pretty well. After our trip tonight We’ve decided this is the place and it’s all because of Juan. He is the best and we will always come back here because of the top notch service he provides. Thank you Juan.

Updated review… Took a year to return, and certainly glad we did! Had the chorizo with pork and the meat was tender and the dish was Excellent! Had their house margarita on the rocks and requested cut jalapenos mixed in and it was perfect. Not too much sour mix which can ruin the drink. My wife had a chicken fajitas chimichanga which she loved. We also had a side of fresh made guacamole we was good (for us just a few to many onions). Walked out with half our meals. There was ample food. We’ll be back.
12 months ago…Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but have recently posted about other Mexican restaurants in the area, and the steak was tender, not overdone like my dish was here. Will try you again to see.

I was impressed at the flavor in the food at Romo’s! Everything tasted incredibly fresh, where a lot of Mexican restaurants tasted like canned food. The table next to us ordered a dessert that looked delicious, and I wanted to try it. We also love churros. I ordered the chimibanana and my mom got the churros. The chimibanana was good but had a spicy taste every time I swallowed. My mom said the churros were spicy too. I tried a bite, and I couldn’t eat them. We mentioned this to our waiter and he laughed. He did send the manager, who also seemed to think it was funny, but he did say he would take them off the ticket. But, he didn’t bother when he rang me up! I’ll just know better than to get dessert when I go back!

Clean, friendly, great service. The food was well proportional, well seasoned and hot. The staff was very mindful on checking on us, and service was outstanding. Thank you for the experience. I do recommend Romo’s for your next visit.

It is very rare that I give a perfect review. But this place is amazing. We rarely go out due to I have severe allergies. But we are in town for a ballgame and I didn’t have the option of cooking at home. Juan was so attentive. Listened and wrote down everything I said. Then he went to the kitchen and explained it all.
My meal was by far the best meal I have had in months. And I did not get sick.
We will definitely be recommending this place to others and will be back next time we are in town.

Classic Mexican style restaurant. Lots of choices for dinner entrees. Lots of options for specialty diets such as vegetarian or gluten-free. Employees were friendly and speedy. Food was excellent. It’s fairly close off the interstate of you’re traveling and need a good meal.

Yum!! Great Fajita and taco salads. Service was a bit slow because they were slammed. Very friendly server, brought refills when needed. Chips and salsa were great. Nice seats and decor. Prices very reasonable at lunch.
