This place used to be good back in the day when they first opened. Now it’s just over rated, and stingy on putting more meat on the tacos you over pay for. They are like the gas stations now that have a cash price or a price for those who use their bank cards for their purchase. They capitalize using passive income concept bringing in more money by charging customers who use cards or Apple Pay. You are better off going to a real street taco vendors who give you more than your buck and actually taste like Tijuana style tacos and are not stingy with their meat. This place is over priced.

Nothing special as others have said and overpriced. The guacamole is good and so is the al pastor. Asada is meh. Fries were good too. I asked for half asada and half al pastor

Ordered a burrito of top sirloin , meat was all tallow lard (fat). I understand a little fat but the whole burrito lol . Every bite was chewy fat . Normally order tacos . Separated in a bag most of it and only ate half of the burrito . Do better Goyo !!

I’m giving Tacos Don Goyo (AS A WHOLE COMPANY) a 1 star not because of the quality, but the portion sizes and prices! 1 Taco is $4.15 which is a complete rip off. For the portion per taco, you should expect it to be double the size!! Not even 7 months ago, I went to the Brea location when they were at $3.25. This is not inflation nor supply costs… This is ripping you off and stealing you of your money. There are places that score this company big time in prices and quality that no one knows about. Don’t get me started with the Large Agua Frescas at $6! For myself, 3 puny tacos and a drink…. Over 20 bucks that I can make at home for less than 6 bucks. I would be happy to come to Tacos Don Goyo if the prices stayed (at most) 3.80. This is now a rip off. The tacos should be no more than 3.25, honestly.

After setting an ad for the torta, I saved this place to come try. I didn’t see the torta that was advertised and I forgot the name of it so I ordered the regular one. It was pretty good. I had a better one in boston. I also ordered the asada quesadilla and a chicharron taco. The taco was not what I expected. The pork skin was not crispy and was very soggy with not much taste. I do not recommend the chicharron. The quesadilla was decent. OMG the salsas were pretty damn spicy lol. All three were spicy.

This was on my places to visit and I was glad to finally get the chance to try out their tacos. Parking was a bit challenging, but I got lucky.
Let me start by saying they hand make their corn tortillas and are extremely generous with the amount of meat and guacamole they put in each taco. They also have a small salsa bar in front of their small building. I had the regular Carne Asada tacos and the Quesotaco Asada.
I added the greenish and bright red salsas and lemon to both of the tacos and had some of the radish slices and dove in. They use good quality meat and the tortillas and guacamole are also good quality.
Unfortunately, everything was lacking flavor…it was bland. I am not sure if they use salt or other spices when they make everything but I couldn’t taste anything. If they could add some spices and seasonings to everything they would have amazing tacos. Maybe if I would have added salt it would have hit better.

Really impressed by this place given how small of a shop it is (not that small shops do a bad, job, just given how good it is I would have expected more traffic).
I had 6 tacos; chorizo, tripa, chicharron, cabeza, carnitas and pastor. The cabeza and tripa were my favorites. The cabeza was incredibly soft and moist, fatty, sweet, exactly the way cabeza is supposed to be. Seriously, bravo and thank you. The tripa was super crispy but not super greasy, and had that classic tripa taste, but it didn’t hit until way late. The chicharron was super soft and pretty much melted in my mouth. The carnitas were super unique, tasted very much like pork, but rather than being super shredded they were both shredded and chunked, a little bit less wet than I’m used to, almost like halfway between Mexican and Salvadorean carnitas. It was super good. The pastor and chorizo were also super delicious, both incredibly flavorful, they just didn’t steal the show for me. The red salsa was not very spicy but was super flavorful, and the green salsa was some of the best green I’ve had in a long time. The pickled onions were so good I wanted to take a whole plate home, spicy, sour, oniony, put them on all your tacos please.
I will definitely be back.
