I recently attended a private birthday party at Drift on Lake Wylie and had an amazing experience! The room was set up beautifully and created the perfect atmosphere for the celebration.
The preset appetizers were all delicious, crab cakes, shrimp cocktail, chicken skewers, and deviled eggs. The crab cakes were definitely the star of the appetizers flavorful, perfectly cooked, and unforgettable!
For my entrée, I had the salmon and it was absolutely delicious. The cheesecake for dessert was creamy and so good, and the Riesling paired perfectly with the meal.
A special thank you to Haley and Paul, they both did a wonderful job and made sure everything ran smoothly. Great food, great service, and a great space for private events. I would definitely return!

Hands down one of the BEST restaurants I’ve ever been to in Charlotte! Every single detail was flawless; from the stylish décor and gorgeous location to the impeccable service (our waitress Sarah was a gem!). And the food? Truly NEXT LEVEL. ✨ We had the lobster entrée, lamb stroganoff, foie gras, wine, cocktails, and a crème brûlée that melted in perfection.
The lobster especially: gutted, seasoned, pan-seared, topped with Gruyère, and baked back in its shell, it was the most extraordinary lobster I’ve ever had. If I could give 10 stars, I would. An unforgettable, jaw-dropping dining experience!

Had an awesome dinner last night with one of my business partners. I highly recommend this spot! The views overlooking the lake were very nice, the cocktails were on point, and all the food came out looking incredible. I will say, the filet used for the drift signature wasn’t the best cut, but the presentation and flavor still made up for it. Everything else was top-notch. Our server was super attentive, and even the management stopped by to check on us, which I always appreciate. Overall, five-star experience — we’ll definitely be back!

The service here is impeccable.
Our server, Taya, went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our visit.
Special mention to the manager, Jennifer. My daughter ordered mashed potatoes from the menu, but apparently they’re only served for dinner. Jennifer had a fresh batch made just for her – and then topped it off with two Drift-branded T-shirts for my two daughters.

Last but not least, the food was amazing!
10/10, would definitely recommend.

If you love a peaceful lake view restaurant with a great atmosphere and delicious food you need to come here. Food is a little pricey but their presentation is top tier & definitely worth the money. Their sides are huge so they’re big enough to share for 2-3 people if you want to save money. We got the crab cakes with street corn and Mac and cheese and everything was delicious. They also have a boat rental place right across from the restaurant which is cool. The waiter greeted us with respect and shared his knowledge of the restaurant’s specialties. 10/10 recommend.

This was my first time to Drift, but I can assure you l’ll be back. Food was amazing, atmosphere scenic. I sat on the 2nd level which was so delightful!

Towards the end the restaurant got a little crowded so service slightly delayed. Outside of that soooo good. Super clean too…

We ended the night with carrot cake which has to be the best carrot cake I’ve tasted.

Phenomenal. We sat at the bar and Dave, Emma, And Alex were absolutely wonderful! It was our first time and we were greeted by the hosts and also had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer, Nick, and Sarah. Now, about the food! I have never truly had calamari is all I can figure after this appetizer. It was thick and so flavorful. Not just rings of fried batter. Delicious! The pictures speak for themselves for the rest. Huge kiss to the Chefs!! Amazing place, stunning views, perfect staff, and an unforgettable dinner. Thank you. Xo ♥️

Not terrible, but I expected more. I called ahead to ensure they had heated outdoor seating, and was told yes they do. When we arrived, they escorted us to the “outdoor” section, which is really just a 5 foot extension of the main dining room- it’s very much indoors. I felt misled. I will say, they were very accommodating in trying to help us from that point in finding a table that met our accommodation needs.
Our server was very nice and attentive. The brunch food was good, nothing exceptional but we enjoyed it. However, I was served coffee in a clearly dirty cup – there was still a lipstick print on it (see photo). That tells me not only did the server not pay attention to the cleanliness of the cup, but neither did those responsible for cleaning the dishes. It made me question how safe it is to eat there – on top of it just being gross. The server also brought out the wrong dessert wine – a small issue that by itself wasn’t a problem. It was just all of these missteps put together that made for a not so great overall experience. The view was nice, and the carrot cake was great. The staff members are friendly. I likely won’t return for the experience at this price point.

Nice upscale restaurant. Very clean and modern. Almost every table has a view of the lake. The service was top notch and the food was excellent. We went for the Thanksgiving dinner.

Our group of four dined in on Saturday the 21st. We were really hungry, so we ordered a good variety from different parts of the menu! The Wagyu Tartare and Fried Calamari were both great starters. I also ordered the Lobster Bisque — it looked great, but the flavor wasn’t what I’m used to. My husband had the Wedge Salad and enjoyed it.

For the main courses, we shared the 24 oz Porterhouse, and also had the Lamb Stroganoff and Seared Ahi Tuna. Everything was well-prepared and tasted good. For dessert, we ordered the Tiramisu and Dark Chocolate Mousse — both were excellent and highly recommended. We finished with cappuccinos.

The view of the lake was peaceful and added to the atmosphere. Overall, I’d rate the experience an 8 out of 10. Our server was polite but service was slow. We had a 5 PM reservation and didn’t leave until after 8 PM, which felt excessive for the pacing.

What stood out in a disappointing way was how the managers handled the room. Both the male and female floor managers were walking around checking on tables. The male manager finally came over about 20 minutes before we left, but his approach felt rushed and insincere. The female manager, Jennifer Tiller (based on the menu), never acknowledged us at all. We weren’t just sitting around — we were actively ordering and spent over $400. You would expect some acknowledgment at that price point. Instead, it felt like we were being avoided.

The food and setting were solid, but the management’s lack of hospitality and slow service took away from the overall experience
