We visited as a family of seven with a booking, and everything we ordered was excellent. I had the beef bourguignon, which was cooked to perfection, the beef was incredibly tender and flavourful, so good that everyone at the table wanted a taste! The entire menu impressed us, with each dish showcasing classic French cooking at its best.
The staff were wonderful, taking the time to kindly explain everything on the menu and making us feel welcome throughout our meal. The atmosphere captures that traditional French restaurant charm beautifully, even if our photos don’t quite capture the experience.
Make sure to book ahead, this place gets busy for good reason. If you’re looking for authentic French food served with genuine hospitality, Le Cabanon de la Butte is a must-visit.
Visiting from LA and we stumbled across this restaurant highly highly recommended best meal and experience i’ve had by far
Can’t wait to come back
What a spot!
What an absolutely delightful find! Le Cabanon de la Butte exceeded all expectations with its warm hospitality and exceptional French cuisine.
The staff here are truly incredible. We hadn’t booked ahead (lesson learned!), but despite this, they graciously accommodated us when they saw we were out in the cold with our small baby. This kind of thoughtfulness and flexibility speaks volumes about their genuine care for guests.
The food was simply delicious, showcasing classic French cooking at its finest. We started with escargots and salmon, both prepared to perfection. For mains, we had the fish and magret de canard, and every dish was exquisitely executed with that perfect balance of traditional technique and fresh flavors.
Traveling with a baby can sometimes be stressful, but the restaurant is wonderfully kid-friendly, making our evening relaxed and enjoyable. The location is also perfect – nestled near Sacré-Cœur, it’s ideal for a post-dinner digestive stroll with those breathtaking Parisian views.
I would absolutely return and highly recommend Le Cabanon de la Butte to anyone looking for authentic French cuisine, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Just do yourself a favor and book ahead!
We had the escargots (snails) and duck foie gras as starters. They exceeded the mains that came after, and the snails here were the best we had during our trip in Paris. We had the beef bourguignon and duck breast as mains and they were fine, yet not spectacular as we expected them to be tenderer in texture. The sauce was great anyway.
Unfortunately we were too full for desserts which look great from others’ photos.
