Stopped in at Pig Out Inn on a Sunday while passing through Natchez. Really cool-looking mom-and-pop BBQ spot with a classic counter-order setup. Line moves well, you order at the counter, they take your name, and call it when your food’s ready.
Atmosphere-wise, this place nails it — great lobby, local feel, and clearly popular for a reason.
Food-wise, my experience was mixed. I ordered pulled pork, coleslaw, banana pudding, a Corona, and water. The pulled pork was unfortunately dry, and the coleslaw had a noticeable fishy taste, which can happen when ingredients are past their peak or have been sitting too long. Being Sunday, it felt like I may have gotten end-of-batch items.
The standout was the banana pudding — absolutely excellent. Fresh bananas, great texture, and easily the best thing on the plate. Cold beer hit the spot too.
Prices weren’t cheap for counter service, and while tipping is optional in this setup, I still tipped well. I just wish the food quality had matched the reputation and atmosphere.
I’d consider stopping again earlier in the week or earlier in the day, because I can see why people love this place — my timing just may not have been ideal.

Fantastic place for a great BBQ platter or salad! The atmosphere has a fun vibe, & the staff is very accommodating. The young man was personable, like he really cared about the business himself.

The food was really good. The most unique nachos we have ever eaten in our life. We had nachos in Natchez! (Why don’t they make a T-shirt that says that? Make sure you mail a couple to me please). Stopped in on a Monday night, 8/26/25 when everything else was pretty much closed and the gals behind the counter were super friendly and encouraged us to come in, even though they were closing in about a half hour. We had the sausage sandwich, the nachos and the beans. All of it was fantastic. A true gem that we found by mistake. bought two bottles of their barbecue sauce to take back to Florida.

More than good grub, damn good … best baked beans ever next to my Dad’s, the brisket was the bomb; great service with that lovely Down South southern hospitality; I loved reading the wall. I recommend this eatery!

This has to be the best bbq I’ve ever had. The food was so good it left us speechless! The meats were amazing! The baked beans are over the top amazing! I’ve never tasted baked beans as awesome as these. We ordered more food to go because it was that good! Thank you Maurice, Kelsey, and Stella for your amazing service and taking such great care of us! Y’all rock!

After meeting with a client to show property in Natchez, I had worked up an appetite! We drove downtown to the river banks of the Mississippi River to see what we could find to eat. Downtown Natchez is one of my favorite places, especially during Spring Pilgrimage. The “Pig Out Barbeque Restaurant” caught my eye immediately! I was hungry as a pig, so this was perfect.
The entire restaurant is vintage with memorabilia from early days, old-time booths and unique tables to sit at to enjoy your meal. It is a walk up order and pick up tray to get your food. The menu is lots of barbeque items. I chose a half barbeque chicken with coleslaw and bake beans. The flavor was delicious! They also sell “Pork Skins” which seems to be a favorite.
It is definitely a tourist spot, as I noticed someone come in with a nice camera to get some photos. If you are looking for a fun diner, I would stop at the “Pig Out Barbeque”! I will be back for more!

Stopped in for some BBQ and was so impressed with the atmosphere and the service was so quick and friendly. Had the beef brisket plate with coleslaw and Mac & Cheese. Meat was tender and everything was so good and super flavourful. Highly recommend this place.

The restaurant has a comfortable and quaint atmosphere. Ms. Kelsey was friendly and warm. She placed our order and the staff remembered to do lean brisket for my nachos!! The food was absolutely amazing, hot, fresh and was prepared quickly. The ribs, chicken and brisket weres tender and well-seasoned. The soda fountain drinks were well-carbonated and included a keepsake cup. The restrooms and restaurants was clean. Most of all, the food was Great, Affordable and Plentiful. Hats off to the Pit master, Jerry Brown, my new BBQ Buddy.

Our server was very friendly. The food came out fast, but my wife’s food was not particularly hot. And her French fries were overly salty, but after eating in Natchez at a few places that seems how most people like them there. I had the brisket and bacon sandwich, Mac and cheese, and baked beans. I would highly recommend them all. My wife had the ribs, fries, and corn on the cob. All were good except for the fries as stated before. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a good spot for bbq.
