The roots of this venerable establishment were originally planted by Tennessee native Leroy “Van” Vandegrift, who moved with family to Oklahoma City, where he graduated from Central High. He served in the Army before working as a tool dresser in the oil fields of North Texas and began cooking for fellow roughnecks on rig sites. Around 1928, Van opened his first Pig Stand in a hotel in Wewoka, Oklahoma. It was a small little store serving barbecue such as the Pig Sandwich® and Ribs. The menu also included other types of sandwiches such as Liverwurst, Pimento, Chicken Salad, and Cream Cheese. In 1929 a second Pig Stand opened in Seminole and was then sold in 1935. Pig Stands were later opened in Wichita Falls, Texas and Wichita, Kansas. On…

Mar 2026 – good BBQ with something for everyone. Our visit was for lunch so we decided to have brisket baked potatoe, loaded. It was good. The potato was cooked perfectly. The chopped beef BBQ was a bit dry but the sauce helped. I was disappointed there were no sliced or whole jalapeños but I give them kudos for the Dr Pepper neon signs. The service was great. The food came ot pretty quick. The atmosphere was good and BBQ joint feel. Overall, well be back bc i want to try other items on the menu.

Where to start…I happened to meet the family of this establishment in Arkansas in a hotel lobby as I was traveling to the panhandle of Texas with a 32 foot camper. They said we would not be disappointed by the taste of their BBQ if we decided to stop there for lunch and man… were they RIGHT! I had room to park but from helpful and happy hosts, to quick delivery of food, and even better tasting food than the uplifting environment. I highly recommend stopping here for a full belly and taste buds that’ll thank you throughout the day. Nina, THANK YOU! You’ll be my pit stop when I pass through Oklahoma City!

Brisket is horrible here, it’s Tough and white like its boilded or steamed. Its also 20$ for a 1 meat meal no drink. I will never buy brisket from here again. If I ever come back. The register girls are rude and could careless about a customer ever coming back. And it’s not the first time they’ve acted rude and careless.

I love burnt ends. These had a great flavor, but more than half of it was pure fat. Will not stop me from going to eat here. Out is the best BBQ in Purcell, Norman, and Moore.

Ordered ahead for pick up and my order was prepared fresh as I waited. We were offered free drinks while we waited. The food was great. We also got sides of delicious Mac and cheese, coleslaw and green beans. Service was excellent and friendly. Enjoyed our Christmas eve meal!

Super quiet in here on a Friday evening. Staff was friendly when we walked in and it was really clean in there . We both ordered a bbq brisket sandwich. One chopped and the other sliced. Sandwiches were delicious especially with the bbq sauce. I got baked beans as my side and they were bomb. My boyfriend got fries as his side and some chicken strips. Chicken strips came right out of the fryer. Taste was there just a little too much breading on them. Would recommend eating here.

This was a great place to eat. The food was very good, although the brisket was not as moist as I would have preferred. I will definitely go back. The ribs were amazing!

FRIES. FRIES. FRIES. this place was incredible. The thing that stood out to me the most was their curly fries. Maybe my favorite French fry ever! Hamburger was delicious, the potato salad is to die for. It’s a little on the sweeter side which is the way I like it. Brisket was great and sausage as well. Macaroni and cheese was also very good. Overall extremely satisfied. Rays has competition!

Nice little place to enjoy some bbq and burgers. Cool decor, laid-back atmosphere and friendly staff. We had the $8 burger combo. Pretty good stuff.

I ordered sliced brisket, baked beans and coast law when they brought it out to me.The sliced brisket was very thin and very dry and full of grisel. This is probably the worst brisket i’ve ever seen in a barbecue restaurant.I got my money back.I’m not eating at this place very poor layout on the inside the open sign on the outside of the building. You can hardly see it every time I drive past here. The place looks closed and out of business. They need to get a huge, bright, open sign. But it doesn’t matter. I will not be back at this place again. Extremely poor
I forgot to mention that the brisket was cold, not freshly cooked
