Good evening friends in Chinese
Well! We did it we finally found a Chinese restaurant we like! It’s very close to the style of Cantonese cuisine which is geared more towards Northern style of Chinese cooking but geared towards American style. I spoke at length with a nice young man at the front of the house (Ben).
Ben also made me the best mango boba tea I’ve ever had, he followed my request of 1/2 sugar and the tea they use is outstanding! It’s not only one tea bag per order but a fine quality green tea! It was lively and refreshing as we waited for our food.
Hubby and I are not big eaters but wanted to try as many of some common favorites to get and idea of their flavoring and methods.
We ordered the wonton soup and let me tell you the broth alone earned my respect! The broth was smooth tasty not oily and the wontons were perfect almost beautiful and loaded with meat!
We also ordered the luncheon special general tsao’s chicken which comes with fried or steamed rice, and a spring roll. We opted for a side of the Peking Special Lo Mein and so glad we followed Ben’s recommendation.
Everything was delicious, not greasy and the best part flavorful without the flavors of oil which is a problem with most Chinese restaurants around here.
I told Ben we were so happy that we found a Chinese spot here that’s “close” to San Francisco Chinese American food. We are going back thank you!!
Jasmine, our waitress, was superb in every way; cheerful, efficient and attentive.
Our combination dinners (chicken w/almonds and vegetables, shrimp with vegetables) included soup, egg roll, entree and ice cream. Food was hot, seasoned just right and portions were huge.
It’s a neighborhood establishment that welcomes its guests. Highly suggest trying it out.
My friend and I were sick less then 15 minutes from leaving heading home. We both have been in bed and bathroom all day today. The man at the door doesn’t claim to be manager but takes the complaints. He basically said that something was wrong with us, that he serves tons of rice with no other issues. Just didn’t want to hear it.
We both will never go there again.
Went to the Peking Restaurant last night with a friend I ordered the Orange Chicken w/side of fried rice etc.. and my friend ordered the Garlic Chicken w/the fried rice as well. She took a taste of the rice and stated, “something doesn’t taste right with this rice.” So like a fool I took a taste and when smelled it and something wasn’t right with it. After we both pushed the rice aside. My friend said something to the waitress and as kind as she could have been said “I will say something to the manger.” My friend and I proceeded to eat what we had ordered and asked for our to go boxes as neither one of us could finish.
When we got in the car I told my friend that I had to stop by my home before we went on to our next destination. At that point she stated she had to go home because she wasn’t feeling good and asked me to speed our she was going to have a very bad accident in my car. As I dropped her off and made it to my home which seemed to be as close to danger as my friend racing myself to the bathroom not sure which end to turn to……..it hit!!
So today needless today I haven’t eaten a bit and still the bathroom couldn’t be close enough.
I decided to call the Peking Restaurant to let them know of my health issue, but the gentleman that answered the phone proceeded to tell me I got sick from a different establishment and that I wasn’t telling the truth.
I called to make him aware that was all…..BUT NOW I find myself for the very FIRST time in 70+ years telling ALL OF YOU…..EATING AT THE PEKING REST. IS BETTER THAN TAKING THE SHOT OF OZEMPIC (not that I ever did but you know),……….. I am sure I had to lose at least 5 to7lbs. They need to close their doors it is very unsafe to eat there.
The only item that was not five stars was their fried rice but honestly, there was so much of everything else we didn’t have room for it anyway. I would definitely recommend this to everyone I know in the Fort Pierce area.
