I’ve really tried to avoid leaving negative reviews in the Boone restaurant scene (as it is very easy to do), but I’m so I upset with the most recent experience I had here and feel it’s necessary. It takes a lot for me to write a bad review. First I’ll say the food is fine (except for one occasion – stay tuned for details). Service up until today has been okay. I came in with my husband and 1 year old for lunch. We were told it would be a 20-30 minute wait. A few mins after we put our name down, the hostess sat another couple who came in after us almost immediately – **No they hadn’t put their name down before us nor did they have a reservation as I had overheard them determining if they wanted to wait for a table or not. Initially, I didn’t overthink it and assumed it had to do with spacing and highchair availability. Granted the couple who came after us didn’t have a baby, but we only needed a high chair and very clearly could have been seated at the table the couple ended up getting. I’ve come here before in a similar situation (when all other tables were full) and we were seated at one of those smaller 2 person tables with our baby. I’m pretty sure it had nothing to do with capacity and everything to do with the hostess’s discretion and possibly discrimination because we had our infant with us. I had only recognized this after about 30 minutes of already waiting. When I asked the hostess why she had sat that couple before us and why we couldn’t have had that table, she said she didn’t think we’d fit and she “didn’t want him (our baby) to hit his head” in relation to a party of eight sitting nearby. I have no idea what she was referring to especially since we sat at this 2 person table with our infant previously when other tables were completely full. Then I realized she was waiting on one particular table to finish where she wanted to sit us. If I had known the hostess was waiting for one particular table to finish, I would have ordered to go upon arrival. We ended up ordering the food to go at that point because we couldn’t wait any longer with a busy, hungry and fussy infant. My sandwich was good. However, I ordered the soup as a side and while I was eating it pulled a piece of plastic out of my mouth (The type you peel off of a store-bought soup or other food container). In most scenarios when a foreign object like this ends up in my food, I typically remove it and do not care as much, however, I was sharing the soup with my baby, and the plastic was a choking hazard, therefore I couldn’t continue feeding it to my baby. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because 2/4 visits have been mediocre at best, and the other 2 have been extremely disappointing/frustrating. I also hate to do this because this seemed to be one of the few decently good places here.

Here is my food review for my to go order on 10/12/2025 which is related to the photos.
I ordered what seemed to be a cross between a shepherds pie and a pot pie. Instead of incorporating the ground beef for maximum flavor in the pie mixture they lazily cut or ripped up a burger patty and tossed it on top. The burger was dry and tasteless. I will try most foods, don’t usually care too much about how they look and focus more on how they taste, but for $19 this was a disgrace.

A Hidden Gem in Boone!
Wild Craft Eatery is a cozy, welcoming spot with a refreshingly eclectic menu that offers something for everyone — especially vegans and vegetarians. The food is creative and flavorful, with a focus on fresh, local ingredients. My favorite dish on the menu was the Thai yellow curry ! It was really flavorful warm and like a hug on a plate! The all-women staff is warm, hard-working, and made us feel right at home. It feels like a women-owned business, and the care shows in every detail. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Boone!

Great flavor, generous portions, and really good service! The food was so tasty we even had to take some home. Everything was fresh, and the mango salsa served with the chips was absolutely delicious. Definitely a place worth coming back to!

Food quality / price (value) rating 10. The atmosphere is eclectic, and they have a wonderful outdoor seating area. The menu is a wide ranging mix of extraordinarily well chosen dishes, all of which have unique twists you won’t find anywhere else! I had the Grilled Cheese Extraordinaire with bacon that came on a perfectly grilled locally baked bread. It was quite likely the nest grilled cheese I’ve ever had. A cup of spicy homemade sweet potato corn chowder came with it, and was a perfect accent to go with the grilled cheese. They have a full bar and a wide variety of canned and bottled beers. Their specialty cocktails include several unique and original recipes, including a special method that freezes water at the bottom of the cocktail glass where it remains while you drink your cocktail – very clever and original. We finished our meal with a couple of house made blueberry sugar cookies that were fantastic! The manager, Carrie, was very attentive answering our questions and informative regarding the food and its preparation and local sourcing. Our server, Kacya, was also attentive with the service we were given. The prices were right, and the portions were generous. This restaurant deserves a rare rave review.

It’s July 4th, we decided to eat a bit later than normal(7:20pm) and we drive by Wild Craft. My wife says, “it’s not busy”. Highly unusual…normally packed out. So, I turn around and find a parking place on the road side about 3 blocks away.
We are immediately seated outside as the temperature today was comfortable. Our waitress was very pleasant and during our entire visit was very attentive. I got the Yardbird. A southern comfort plate. Very delicious. My wife got the Baha Mahi Tacos. She thoroughly enjoyed them. Both dishes had plenty of food on them. Since it was later in the evening and the sun was setting, it shined in us for a bit. Luckily we were at a table near the building. For those seated away from the building, it was a bit of an eye strain to look toward the setting sun. My wife did have her sunglasses on during dinner as the glare bothered her.
As we left the restaurant, we noticed there were a few parking spots available on the side of the building. We’ll come back. I’d recommend.

I enjoyed this restaurant. My burrito was delicious it was hearty and packed with food and flavor. My darling got the burger with the substitute side up charged tomato Gouda soup which was well worth it. I loved that it was dog friendly! My dog enjoyed it with us! They gave him a water bowl.

We had burgers where the meat is from a farm 6 miles away. You can’t get much more local than that! We enjoyed our lunch outside on a covered patio facing main street. There was a torrential rainpour during our meal, and the server invited us to stay as long as we wanted to avoid getting wet. 🙂

MUST VISIT IN BOONE. They have such a diverse menu, and everything was fantastic. We came for dinner on a Friday night and we’re seated quickly. The decor and ambiance was unique and fun (we loved the little salt and pepper shakers). The cocktails were also sooo good! I highly recommend to anyone visiting Boone.

I had a hamburger to go, but I wish I had time to stay. The atmosphere was very calming and pleasant and the menu was excellent. They do not serve fried food because they do not feel it is healthy. The hostess was extremely helpful and kind and whenever a way to make me feel comfortable while I waited for my food.
