Smithfield’s in Shallotte never disappoints! The service is always amazing—every time I walk in, the staff is smiling, friendly, and ready to help. The atmosphere feels welcoming from the moment you arrive.
The food is consistently delicious. The chicken is cooked perfectly every single visit—crispy, tender, and full of flavor. The barbecue is always spot-on as well, with that signature taste that keeps you coming back. You can tell they take pride in doing it right.
The managers deserve special recognition. They’re always present, approachable, and genuinely committed to making sure every customer has a great experience. On the rare occasion something isn’t perfect, they’re quick to fix it with no hesitation.
Overall, this location sets the bar high. Great food, great people, and great service—what more could you ask for?

First experience…impressive. good proportion and flavor. But I have to admit, one crucial thing missing was the BBQ Sauce. I know their signature BBQ sauce us vinegar based but have some assorted BBQ sauces will round out the meal better.

Surprisingly good food and fast friendly service. We had the 3 piece boneless wing snak and it was a lot of food! Also had the barbecue and slaw and both were very good. The barbecue is eastern nc style and it’s pulled pork rather than the Lexington style where the pork is chopped. It’s lean, moist and mildly smoked – their barbecue sauce is awesome. Highly recommend!

I had dinner tonight and it was absolutely fantastic. I grew up on ENC BBQ and this place never disappoints. Fried chicken is on point and sides are great. Excellent staff and service. Eating here when at the beach speaks volumes. By the way, I absolutely love seafood!

Not bad. Chicken was juicy but I need some good BBQ sauce and they dont have any. Also they need to lighten up on the ice. I got a large cup and the amount of coke in the cup was less than half a can. I ended up dumping just about all the ice out and going up for a refill.

If you’ve never had smithfields chicken, I highly recommend trying it. The dark meat is always my go to order. They have great shrimp and bbq too. They are hard to beat when you’re craving fried chicken

Visited Last night…bbg was very bland..had to order a side of shrimp because my sister didn’t like the bbq..this is what we got…looks like the breader was not sifted..she ate what she could but had more waste than edible shrimp..we are not ones to complain ..and didn’t say anything but things just cost too much these days..we spent close to $40 ..not sure who the kitchen manager is or how this even left the kitchen

It’s been 10 years+ since I’ve had the chance to eat at Smithfield’s… and first time back this location did not disappoint. I bought all my favorites! How I have missed the pulled pork and hush puppies! Especially with that vinegar sauce! Now that I have close access I’ll be back constantly! Thank you whoever was working 8/29/25!
