Cedar Mill, Grand Central bakery is always a delight, one of our favorite spots to come on rainy days for cozy vibes. The staff is always super helpful; it’s the kind of place where you really feel like part of a neighborhood community. Brandon went above and beyond for us today, helping to customize our order. The pastries and bread are always great and the seasonal sandwiches are perfect for lunch. Highly recommend.

Great food and amazing service! Their bread is fresh, and they offer a solid variety of breakfast and lunch options, from muffins and croissants to biscuit sandwiches and seasonal specials like the Cubano. I got the Blue Ribbon sandwich, (roast beef, pickled red onions, salad greens, blue cheese, and mayo on a potato bun) and it was really good. My kids also enjoyed the grilled cheese sandwich.
They have a nice selection of fresh-made cookies, including festive Valentine’s Day cookies, as well as apple hand pies and fresh baguettes. I haven’t tried their other menu items yet, but I’d love to, especially their coffee, the matcha iced latte caught my eye since I’m a big fan! A must try location if you are near the area.

I’ve come to this place a few times, but it was always take out. I had pastries at the bakery yesterday. I went in at 1:45pm so a lot of pastries were already gone (they close at 4pm daily.) Fewer pastry options this time. Disappointing…..I ordered the pecan pull apart and chocolate croissan. They were both tasty. Not too sweet. The cappuccino wasn’t as good as I expected. I recently had a good one at a coffee shop downtown Portland, so compared to that theirs was ok. Sanitizers are available near the door and on the counter. No spider webs or flies spotted. Just bread crumbles here and there on some tables. One thing I and the other customers noticed was that this place is loud. There was this adorable group having a good conversation, so they laughed constantly loud (I’m not blaming them.) Customers around the group were looking at them. If you ever read my review, Grand Central Bakery, I suggest putting some soft materials on the wall to make this place quiet. Thank you.

It is a great place to get some bakery items and freshly made food. I had a craving for a grilled cheese sandwich and also a turkey deluxe sandwich. I was pretty hungry during this visit. I liked that the lines go by pretty quickly, and you also get your food fast. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating. The grilled cheese here is done well and has the right amount of cheese oozing out. The turkey sandwich was solid.

Can you do a better job at mixing your dough properly.. The last two times I bought sourdough I noticed white chalky flecks on the inside of my bread.
Also, the parking situation here is really stressful due to limited spots. When it’s busy, waiting for my order can be frustrating, especially when they’re helping the next person. It’s hard to know where to stand without getting in the way.

The day I was leaving Portland, I decided I wanted to get some bread and bakery treats to take back home. I looked online and saw the Grand Central Bakery was not too far away from my hotel and I decided to give them a try. I’m very happy I did! I bought a loaf of sour rye, which is excellent and has held up very well. Also a variety of baked treats and every one of them was a winner! I will definitely be repeating my visit to Grand Central on my next trip to Portland!

Outstanding bakery! The Happy Goat sandwich is my favorite. The combination of goat cheese and chimichurri is so delicious!! I love how the veggies added to the sandwich are seasonal. This time it was carrots, but my favorite is the summer one where they add green asparagus. The sandwiches are a little expensive ($11.05 for the Happy Goat), but they are great quality and made on housemade bread, so it is worth it. The coffee is great as well, the staff friendly, and the space welcoming. It is very busy (even during the week!) but is so worth it.

Absolutely delicious, fresh and fulfilling. Our food was out in 10 mins or less and it was piping hot (my favorite!) Service was 10/10 and our food was as well. The organic OJ they carry is my new favorite. Not pictured is a Cheese Danish that was the BEST danish Ive ever had!
