Great all-you-want Fish Fry during Lent. Big pieces of fish that were very tasty, and homemade fresh tarter sauce, plus sides. Some of our party ordered a burger or a Ruben sandwich instead, and they were very good (the corned beef looked especially good). We sat at a high-top table with chairs. Bar drawings going on during dinner.

We had the most incredible experience with Big Ten Tavern and Big Ten Catering for our wedding weekend! From start to finish, they exceeded every expectation and helped make our celebration perfect.

First, their catering for our wedding was phenomenal. Kim, the catering manager, was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the planning process; she was always helpful and incredibly responsive to all of our questions. Her team prepared a fantastic meal of turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes with gravy that our guests loved. The bartender, Jack, was also awesome and kept everyone happy all night!

The wonderful service didn’t stop there. After our reception, a group of us went to the tavern for a nightcap. The staff was super friendly, the atmosphere was great, and we enjoyed listening to a wonderful live band.

The next morning, we needed a last-minute spot for a brunch to celebrate my father’s 65th birthday. After another restaurant couldn’t seat our large party, my husband called Big Ten Tavern, and they had a table for 20 people ready for us in under ten minutes! When we arrived, our server greeted us warmly, and we even got to see Jack again, who came over to chat with us.

The entire experience, from the catering to the tavern visits, was simply outstanding. We are so grateful to the entire team and will definitely be back soon. Highly recommend!

The broasted chicken tenders we ordered were dry and tough. We asked twice if the Calizone had the red sauce cooked inside and our server assured us it was. Then it wasn’t. I tried it and didn’t enjoy it at all. Most of it clearly un-eaten. The server charged it on our tab anyways. Maybe a bad night, but we will not come back to find out. The restaurant was cold. A $51 tab and a very disappointing dinner.

You can tell this place has been around a while and it’s the neighborhood spot to grab a drink, seemed like a lot of locals. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with waffle fries for lunch and it was good!

Have driven past this quaint little tavern many times over the years. Finally had the chance to stop in for lunch recently. Very helpful and attentive waitress (Debbie). We opted for the Cuban and Reuben in spite of a delicious looking chicken and pizza buffet. We’re rewarded with two excellent versions of our favorite sandwiches. Both had extremely generous portions of meat. My Cuban had deeply smokey homemade pulled pork with some nicely seared lean ham. Little heavy on the mustard and the bottom bread was ungrilled. Coleslaw was nice and creamy too. Nice sized chunks of Corned Beef in the Reuben with a reaaaaaally tasty dressing that was better than the standard 1000 Island (homemade?). Great breakfast on the weekends. Very crispy hash browns and perfect poached eggs. Hollandaise could use a bit more lemon. Still went very well with the dishes we ordered. Very generous serving of Italian sausage in the Cajun Breakfast. Walleye Sandwich had a nice sized fillet and was very crisp. However, the unseasoned coating was too thick and pieces kept falling off. Bread was also a little dry. Angry Italian was delicious with a red pepper aioli that boosted the flavor.

The live music was awesome, a younger guy named Zander was playing. The servers were very outgoing and cheerful. The food was good, a little dry on my batch of ribs, but the flavor was outstanding.

We love Welsch’s for the food, the vibes, and the bartender Shannon! We’re happy to come back often for the great service, awesome gluten free cauliflower pizza crust, and the good drinks.
Thanks for always welcoming us!

Very “local” town bar. Good pizza. Very clean and well put together for 120 year old bar. If you like quite little drinking spots this is the place for you and a friend.

By far the worst food I have ever gotten a restaurant. The broasted chicken was cooked so long that when I took a bite it was dry bones inside. I also ordered the French onion soup that I couldn’t even eat. All my food was burnt. Terrible terrible terrible. My husband got the fish and it had no flavor. The food took 1 hour 20 mins to get to the table. Lots of trash in the parking lot. The drinks were good- only thing that saved the evening

Surprisingly good bar food. I have driven by it 200 times. Friendly service. Not expensive. The broasted chicken is tender but oily. The buffalo chicken sandwhich and cole slaw are excellent. Open mic on Wednesdays after 7. The pizza is quite good also.
