The food was great but the wait for the food was long then we wanted. The ribs were tender and feel of the bone. Jambalaya was a bit dry but the fries were good. Sweet tea was excellent. Good place to eat!

The ribs were 5 stars, meat falling off the bone, perfectly cooked, service second to none. Skip the desert, cardinal coffee a few blocks has you covered on desert.

Been planning to try this spot out for a while. So glad we finally made it. I’ll be ordering off the bayou section of the menu again. The shrimp and grits was unlike any other I’ve had in the Carolinas. And that Autumn Sangria was indescribably delicious. We’ll be back for sure. This is a local restaurant that you absolutely should get out and support. The atmosphere, the service, the drinks and the food were ALL on point. Even the music selection was perfect. Y’all go show em some love!

Great BBQ and dipping sauces . We got the ribs and 3 meats and they were all great. Ribs fell off the bone. Super sweet and informative waitress. I’ll be bringing more family back.

Where do I begin??? I drove from Anderson specifically to try their food, and boy, was I not disappointed!!
I had a blackberry margarita, smoked pork nachos, and apple and sausage flatbread. Everyone single bite was amazing!! They have a great menu with a variety of options besides BBQ.
The atmosphere is very laid back and casual, family friendly.

If only the food hadn’t been so tempting that I forgot to take pictures before we began eating… What you see here started out as two shrimp tacos and twice as much of that succulent sliced barbecue, plus a summer fruit salad and a basket of fried mushrooms. The shrimp tacos and the summer fruit salad were from the day’s seasonal specials and were amazing. It is difficult to think of anything that says summer more than the local blueberries, blackberries, and peaches that topped the salad of spring greens along with candied pecans, Parmesan, and a to-die-for balsamic vinaigrette. One of the best salads I’ve ever had; I sure hope you get there while they still have it! The barbecue here never disappoints with its deep, smoky flavor, but Southside isn’t just a barbecue joint; there is clearly a bayou vibe here and it comes through in the slate of Cajun and low country classics like red beans and rice, shrimp and grits, and shrimp Creole to name a few. Southside’s menu offers a great variety without losing focus on what the place is all about. I’ve never been disappointed here. Do be aware that this is a smallish restaurant so don’t be surprised if there is a wait, but it will be worth it. Parking is a bit tight, but there is an overflow area across a small street in the back. Ça c’est bon!

I have to admit I was alittle disappointed. The gator bits were almost burnt. I ordered CRAWFISH etouffee and the only crawfish I could find in it was really small and not much of it but it did have alot of shrimp in it, which I have never had before. The flavor was not good cajun flavor, just bland. My wife had the fried shrimp platter and it was very good. We got dessert to go and it was excellent. Our waitress was very good and nice. We will return again and hopefully the gator bites and cajun food will be better.

Southside was recommended to us, and it was AMAZING! The smoked meats were excellent, the sides were delicious, and the pasta special was AWESOME. It is a Smokehouse, and the atmosphere is exactly like a Smokehouse SHOULD be – bbq and relaxing. Highly recommended. Delicious.

This was our first visit and It was OK at best. The food was the weakest part. We had BBQ and Cajun dishes and all of them didn’t seem fresh and didn’t taste good. In fact, the hush puppies and fries were the best part.

Everything we have eaten here is very good. We have been twice now and have been impressed. The wait staff works together and it shows. Drinks stay full and anytime you need something they get it promptly.
The only negative things I have to say are the bathrooms are small and you have to walk through the waitress’ area to get to them. Also, I don’t agree with any staff wearing their hair down in a restaurant environment.
