We had lunch on a Saturday here. The pictures don’t do the view justice. The burgers were phenomenal! Hands down the best burger I’ve had in a very long time. The fries were amazing, the onion rings were just okay. The place has such a great, authentic atmosphere. This was my first visit but my husband has been coming here for years, now I know why!

It’s on the water fun. The pelicans fly, and the other birds amuse with their antics. Be careful they might grab a French fry from you while in flight. Go watch the boats go by, the tourists and locals enjoy all the tasty brown bagged delicacies and the friendly folks!!

Somewhat of a hidden gem on the water next to the bridge to Longboat Key. Nice fare of burgers and seafood. Everything was fresh and crispy. Plenty of parking and seating too . Chill vibes

Cool little stop, everything was ok. Counter service and pick up deal with a a neat water view. Counter lady was a bit rude. She is that lady that moved there 20 years ago, took a job, is still there, and started not bitching about tourists about 2 weeks into it . You..she was behind the window with a less than pleasant demeanor, irritated to explain their 100 ur old concession stand approach, but barring that, kinda cool place. Fishing shop on one side bait and the like for the dock that is attached on an adjacent building.
Gotta watch how you treat people Maude….might just come back atcha….food was just ok too…pretty pricey for what it was but edible blackened grouper. Will probably go back to see if it’s any better round 2 or just a neat roadside stop with a water view

Excellent staff at the grill and the burgers hit the spot every time! Very knowledgeable guides down at the bait shop. Highly recommend going with Matt or Mahi Marshall for a charter! They’ll put you on some great fish!

They are priced for the tourist crowd. Which means expensive. The burger I ordered was big but not the best quality burger. You better get there early if you want any live shrimp for fishing. The gear is very expensive. $60 for a long sleeve fishing shirt that costs $30 anywhere else. $50 for a straw fishing hat that costs $20 anywhere else. $53 for a used ( it was a rental before selling) fishing pole that would have cost the same new at Walmart. $10 for 12 live ( kind of lol) shrimp . But I Will say this. They opened until noon ( he actually stayed till 1pm to accommodate everyone there) on Christmas Day which was awesome! I forgot about $25 in sinkers , hooks etc on the counter when i left but went back with my receipt the next day and he let me pick out that dollar amount of stuff to replace what I forgot with no problem. And the staff is very very nice. Also funny . Over all I’d shop there again. There’s room for improvement especially on prices but I get it. It’s a tough economy and it is tourist season. Also located right on the water’s edge in a calm peaceful bay.

Why I’m giving this popular seafood establishment a poor one star rating.
While I would consider this place a typical tourist trap because of its waterfront location…the food quality is substandard.
To begin with, nearly everything is fried and as an experienced retired chef I know that seafood should never be fried but sautéed…and lightly.
I had both the Calamari and the clam baskets.
Both came heavily breaded and overcooked.
The quality of the oil they fried it in was breaking down so the expected whole clams was just clam strips which was dark in color. I could taste the bad oil. The Calamari was not much better and I found myself peeling off the heavily battered seafood before giving up on both. I estimated that I only ate 10% of my lunch before discarding it to the trash bin outside by the picnic tables overlooking a bay. Truly a horrible food dining experience unless you’re a tourist and not a local.

Great Old Florida spot with picnic tables. Burgers and Fish and Chips. Boat kayak or drive here. The shore birds might snatch a fry so he careful!

New Pass Grill is the perfect slice of old Florida charm mixed with unbeatable good vibes! From the moment we arrived, the view took our breath away — sparkling blue water, boats drifting by, and the smell of burgers sizzling on the grill. The beautiful cashier Chelsea was absolutely radiant and made our experience extra special! She greeted us with a genuine smile, was super attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. You can tell she truly loves what she does — her energy is contagious! And Wendell in the kitchen? Absolute legend. Every single burger came out cooked to perfection — juicy, flavorful, and perfectly grilled. Hands down some of the best burgers in Sarasota. We also have to give a huge shoutout to Brandon in the bait shop! Not only is he incredibly friendly, but he’s also so knowledgeable — whether you’re new to fishing or a local angler, he’s got the best tips, gear, and advice to make your day on the water a success. Between the amazing staff, laid-back atmosphere, and killer food, New Pass Grill is the kind of place you never want to leave. A true Sarasota treasure, can’t wait to come back!

Location, Location, Location. That is the best thing about New Pass Grill. Located with a view of Sarasota Bay the view sitting and eating is one surely you do not want to miss. However, it is best to sit with a beer and enjoy the water without eating. While they give you a generous amount of fries the burger was not very good. I ordered the angus burger but I highly doubt that was what I was given because it did not taste anything like I expect an angus burger to taste like. The fish my wife ordered also did not have much flavor, instead just having a battery taste. Sitting with a beer is your best option here, but be forewarned their beer prices are quite high.
