We drove from Knightdale once again to give V’s a second chance.
Our experience was bad.
We ordered the oxtails and rice, cabbage/greens mix, and Mac & cheese.
Both of our plates were inedible. We ended up throwing them in the trash.
The oxtails were very overcooked, tough, stringy and hard.
Of course we realized this when we got back to Knightdale.
****The manager was nice and processed a refund for me. However, my daughter paid in cash , so we would have to make another trip to Durham to get her refund. Which is an inconvenience.
I appreciate the refund, but we still wasted time, gas and energy. And after driving all the way to Durham, we had to go back out to get food we could actually eat.
V’s Kitchen, we won’t be returning. Disappointing.

I’m giving this place a 5 star because I want to give them another chance to do better.
The service is prompt and friendly.
The restaurant is really nice.
However, the cabbage was way too sweet with absolutely NO chili & the oxtails were too salty.
The Mac & cheese was really good.
I’m going to give them another chance. I may have just gotten a bad batch.

My son and I came here for lunch and unfortunately wasted $40. I had the 2 piece chicken meal with Mac and pinto beans. My son had the fish plate with Mac and Mashed potatoes and gravy. This was by far the worst soul food I’ve ever had. The chicken had no seasoning, the mac was terrible and the pinto beans also had no seasoning. Although the food was terrible, The young lady who took our order was very sweet. She offered “to fix whatever was wrong and make it right,” but it was literally everything needed redone. I left my entire platter there on the table, along with my son. I hope this was just a fluke, as there is no possible way there’s this many good reviews with the food being anything like what we tasted this past Tuesday. I was so disappointed.

First time visit while traveling for work. Was there about 4. No wait. Ordered 4 Wing Dinner w/collards & macncheese. Wait for food order after placed was about 15 min. Chicken was delicious and fresh! Collards and cornbread was tasty. Macncheese was dry. I otherwise would have given 5 stars.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dariela who was the cashier today. She politely greeted us to let us know that she was taking a call in order and would be right with us. As she took our order, she was very patient as I had a family order and she made sure to review the order to make sure it was correct. The atmosphere was nice, I can tell that there are regulars who frequent there which told me ahead of time that the food was good and they have lovely artwork to admire. I will be back again!

The food here is absolutely amazing! Every dish was packed with delicious flavor, and the macaroni and cheese was a standout—definitely my favorite. The staff were all incredibly friendly, and the complimentary sweet tea was a really nice bonus. I will definitely be coming back!

The food was delicious! Everything was seasoned perfectly and the food was good and hot when it came out. I got the Fried Chicken Wing Dinner with Green Beans, Potato Salad, and Corn Bread as my sides with an iced tea which was really good and sweet as well. The workers were very friendly and patient. I enjoyed my experience here and give everything a 10/10!

OMG, this food was SOOOO good!! We have seen this place, but had never eaten here. I wanted soul food, so we came here to V’s Kitchen. I ordered the fried pork chops, collard greens, mac & cheese, and cornbread. My husband got the fried fish and the same sides with a roll. Every single thin was absolutely amazing!! I would eat here everyday if I could. My only regret is that we waited so long to eat here! We will for certain be back!!

Upon entering V’s Kitchen, I was greeted with a warm welcome and friendly smile. The staff was very helpful and took the time to recommend popular menu items. I ordered the cabbage, oxtails with rice, macaroni and cheese, and cornbread. Everything was simply delicious, and the portions were very generous. For the price, you definitely receive more than enough food. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

I’ve been here 2xs. Staff is always nice and helpful and friendly. The cornbread is very good, fish is flavored light but we’ll and the cabbage/collard mix is tasty too. The pinto beans were not flavorful like the last time but looking forward to them being tasty again on a future visit!

We were looking for soulful foods with rich flavors. This is not it. Unseasoned fried chicken and over processed coleslaw that had an odd almost “fishy” aftertaste. Collards were very tasty and the Mac and cheese is decent so there may be hope. Tastes differ so maybe it’s just not for me.
