Agave in Rehoboth Beach is a standout spot, especially if you genuinely appreciate tequila and mezcal and not just overly sweet margaritas. Their tequila selection is deep and thoughtfully curated, ranging from crisp blancos to reposados, añejos, extra añejos, cristalinos, plus a solid mezcal lineup. It’s obvious the bar program is intentional and built by people who truly know agave spirits.
The La Casa margaritas are a must try. The version made with fresh orange and cristalino tequila is next level, smooth, perfectly balanced, and not overly sweet. It lets the tequila shine instead of masking it, which is rare and refreshing.
The food is just as impressive. Everything I’ve had has been excellent, but the surf and turf burrito and the blue cheese steak quesadilla are absolute standouts and worth ordering every time.
The atmosphere is clean, modern, and lively without feeling chaotic, and the staff is knowledgeable and happy to talk tequila if you’re into that. Whether you’re sipping something neat or pairing great food with a crafted margarita, Agave delivers. Easily one of the best spots in Rehoboth for agave lovers.

I read the reviews before we went and we had lower expectations based on that. I truly don’t know what people are complaining about it. It was ranked lower than some of other places we tried and those ended up being disappointing but this really exceeded our expectations.
Atmosphere. Beautiful well-decorated, thoughtful even down to the trash cans in the women’s bathrooms.
Food fantastic. I had the pull pork tacos and my husband husband and the shrimp street tacos. Both excellent. We had a guacamole sampler with the shrimp, apple and tomato garlic guacamole and we licked the bowls clean. Highly recommend. The drinks were also well made and tasty.
Others have commented on the price and I have to say for similar dishes it is a little on the pricey side for the food and drinks so keep that in mind.
Service was good. Our food was timed well and our waitress checked in with us regularly.
Overall we were really happy and arguably one of the best places we ate at on our trip so far. Get the guac sampler- it’s amazing!

If you are looking for upscale Mexican cuisine then this is your place. The decor is very nice and modern. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The service is very good. They are attentive and happy which are always great signs. The food is great and the portions are large. Be sure to try the single order of Nachos as an appetizer. Just be sure you are hungry. The single order is huge. The Blue Cheese and Steak Quesadilla was outstanding. A great combination of flavors. This restaurant is a nice place to go for a celebration or for just a nice night out with your loved ones. It is also dog friendly which is another plus.

The queso was cold, and the fajitas were lackluster. Never been to a restaurant where the fajitas don’t come out literally sizzling and smoking.
The chicken and shrimp fajitas were 40 dollars… you can get a far better meal for half that price anywhere else.

There was a really long wait time, which we understood because we didn’t do reservations. The food was great our waitress was great, but the hostesses they have here are absolutely horrible. Both of them had such a rotten s otty arruide we wanted to walk out, but thanks to the house manager there that night stayed. Over all after we got it is was good. The drinks are deffentently good there. Little pricey but we enjoyed it

So disappointed. I have been coming to this restaurant probably for at least 15 years. The quality of ingredients has always set them apart from every other Mexican restaurant and local restaurant, One of the items I normally order is the surf and turf burrito, but I get it in a bowl without the tortilla. For years it has always been filet and shrimp. Tonight it was not filet. I asked the person behind the bar because we were sitting at the bar and was told that it was skirt steak and it has always been skirt steak. I’m sorry, please do not insult my intelligence, I know what skirt steak is and I know what filet is and there is a tremendous difference. I understand that everything is getting more expensive, but it has always been the quality of the menu items that has drawn us here repeatedly. If it’s not going to be filet please specify it is not filet. Or provide an up charge amount. Please do not insult my intelligence because I know what I am eating. It wasn’t just the change of the ingredient, it was the way it was handled and the way that the staff made me feel. Not sure if I will ever go back again and that is very sad to say after all the years we have been patronizing this restaurant.

Food is meh, not terrible. My mom took us there so I appreciated the gesture and kept my discontentment to myself. After having lived in LA county for 5 years, this stuff doesn’t do anything for me. Agave was good but fairly average in my opinion. I only tried one item off the menu – the birria quesadilla and I felt like got barely had any flavor. The cheese and barbacoa meat wasn’t mixed very well either – it was like they just placed both separately in the tortilla. Like I said, flavor was kinda weak and the dipping sauce wasn’t impressive either.
Price was fine, I didn’t think what I got was overpriced.

We were seated almost immediately despite how busy they were. The table was still a bit damp from just being cleaned so that was a great start. Our waitress and other employees who brought our food were very polite and great at what they do! Great place to grab a bite when you’re craving Mexican!

Atmosphere was fun! It’s a large place. The food was good- I got taquitos and the queso appetizer. I don’t think I’d get the queso appetizer again- it didn’t have much flavor. Oscar was our waiter and he was super friendly, knowledgeable, and great at his job!
