Please bring back your old way of making your nachos!! When you reopened you stated that you wouldn’t change the old recipes, but will add some new ones. That sounded great, but then you DID change the nachos. We have been ordering your nachos for many years (the BEST nachos in SF!) so we were very disappointed! For decades they were made with shredded cheese and put under broiler/oven (?). Heating up the nachos in this manner made the chips even crisper and caused the melted cheese to have some nice browned crispy pieces on the edges of the baked tortilla chips and toasted crispy cheese on the plate (one of the best parts, peeling off the browned cheese from the plate, yum!!). I liked to order the nachos plain with just the shredded cheese and a sprinkle of onions on top. The toasted cheese browned over the extra toasted tortilla chips was so delicious!! Now they are doused with a cheese sauce (similar to how most restaurants make their nachos) and come out soggy in many areas, therefore taste completely different than they use to!! If you don’t want to replace the new nachos then how about offering 2 different nachos to choose from (“Our New Nachos” and “Our Classic Nachos”)?
FYI, thank you for not changing your Chili Rellenos and their delicious green sauce! They are still one of a kind, fried covered in an eggroll or wonton wrapper (no mexican restaurant makes them like you do and I’ve tried Chili Rellenos in many other US states). Yours are still unique and amazing!!!
Also, your servers are always friendly and greet you with a smile!
Very nice interior with great Mexican Day of the Dead art. Nice tables. And the waitress Landon was great.
Food was great. Server was nice and good. Did forget our appetizer but apologized and brought it out with our meal. Very friendly. Hey had a gluten free menu with details on things like what has utilization of common fryers. Their gluten free chips are not used in a common fryer.
Had no reactions. And will return next time we are in town.
8 min acknowledgment.
Friends margarita was forgotten.
Food was dry.
I was hopeful it would be better than the first time I went.
My partner mentioned that the rice was a bit dry.
The lady bartender had a bit of an attitude but I understood as it was just her behind the bar. I’m sure she was overwhelmed.
I don’t think we will come back, but make sure to set your expectations low. As a Hispanic, I’m not sure this would qualify as Mexican food.
Side note… guac is $9.
