Relaxed and laid back atmosphere, server ( and bartender Donald) was awesome, friendly and makes you feel right at home! Started with the crabcake nuggets”” I didn’t share and ate everyone of them””” We had the grilled tuna sandwich which was delicious! and Pops three from the Sea which was fried perfectly and tasted great ( oysters were excellent!) the hush puppies tasted yummy and the fries with our plates were great! Had a few drinks ( thank you for not skimping on the bourbon) overall a relaxed and delicious meal”” I’d definitely recommend checking out Pop’s for a great meal! We’ve passed this place so many times over the years and we regret not coming sooner. Every meal was top notch, I loved the kick on the Korean BBQ wings, the fried pickles were amazing. Kids and adults were very happy.

Update for 2025: still just as great as last year. We tried some new items, chowder and the 3 From the Sea fried dinner, and both were fantastic.
Small, friendly, hole-in-the-wall type place with delicious seafood offerings. Fish bites were delicious. Raw bar oysters were meaty, fresh and clean. The cocktail sauce they serve is very horseradish forward and was perfect to accompany all of the dishes we ordered, yummy! Staff was great. We will definitely add this place to our must visits each vacation.

Very good ‘locals’ hangout. If you don’t act like a tourist you can be ok, but locals rule… Bartender was awesome, runner was hauling ass! Food came out quick and was fantastic. Very busy at Friday happy hour but worth the wait!

Fantastic old school fish shack and pub. Nothing pretentious here, come right after the beach and don’t worry about what you look like! We sat at the bar for our meal and had fun convo’s with everyone seated!
For lunch I ordered the scallop basket and my husband had the raw oysters. Both meals were delicious and fresh! Prices are very fair! Sufficient selection of food to choose from, fish and American fare.

We’ve driven past many times intimidated by the crowded parking lot at a small place. Now we know why it’s often crowded. Went for early beer and dinner tonight and loved Pops! So friendly and a nice casual vibe. Food was great at a good price. Hubby said his cheese steak was the best he’s had on Hatteras Island to date and I enjoyed the rockfish sandwich. The shrimp wontons were surprisingly delicious — especially that dipping sauce. We will be back for sure.

This place is dive bar-y in the best of all possible ways. My relatives had been here before and had said once they had to walk once due to bad service. That’s the difference between them and me I would not darken the doorway again if I had received the treatment they described to me. That being said the service was fantastic. The place was jumping when we came in for a late lunch. Two of us went raw oysters. They were good and the cocktail sauce was very horseradishy and tasty. My other relative got a fish sandwich. We were still hungry so we ordered some lemon pepper scallops that were outstanding and some crab wasabi bites that were tasty. Seemed to be only two people waiting on everyone and they did a wonderful job. I noticed the young male food runner help an elderly man get from the door to his seat.

Best crab cakes ever, hot and very tasty. Shrimp, delicious. Great coleslaw, hush puppies and decent fries. I thoughtthe scallops may be from another type fish. Grain was wrong, but very tasty. Overall a good stop. Reasonable pricing. It’s a bar, so it is noisy.However the service was good.
